I've always had immense shame regarding my obsessive-compulsive disorder. Tonight I shared my story and exposed all the nit and grit. For English, we are working on a narrative assignment. I told the story of my severe OCD as a child. I plan on going into psychology, sharing my story was done with the intent to help me self-reflect and grow to be a better student and professional. We broke off into peer review groups. Both my partners were amazing. They shared about their mental illnesses and gave me reassuring feedback I wasn't alone. As long as I could remember I had concealed my OCD. Afraid it might ruin my reputation, afraid it made me less intelligent. Now I feel liberated.
*Note: I will post the story when I complete the project. |

Its always hard to go out of your shell and be open about your illness, but I congratulate your bravery and I am so glad you had good results from it!
