As a grade school student I developed a habit of plucking my hairs off, as a result I now have a 'reverse' widow's peak. I was wondering if hair plucking is a response to 'negative emotions'. To put it simply, I was shy in class as a kid, I'm even more so now.
I just wish study more about my past emotions, so I could better understand myself today. Your responses are always appreciated. ![]()

My understanding is that the causes of hair pulling are not known. One thing that does seem to be the case, though, is that stress can aggravate the condition. Here are links to some articles, from PsychCentral's archives, on the subject of trichotillomania:

I might've been a bit drunk of my emotions to boldly post. I missed the sticky, sorry about that folks. Most of the time I'm impulsive and absent-minded, two of my many unfortunate traits.
