I have OCD. I had exposure therapy and it really helped but with this pandemic it's starting to act up again. My therapist wants me to go to the park to get out of the house and I would like to go sit on a bench there but I just don't feel comfortable. If I wash my hands after I get back from the park I'm afraid I won't be able to stop. I used to wash my hands until they were raw and I don't want to have that restart. For reference I live with my parents who do the grocery shopping so I haven't left the house at all since this whole thing started. I don't want to be isolated forever but I just don't feel safe out there. Is anyone else struggling with this? Any words of advice?

I have a friend who has severe OCD like yours. She lives alone & pays someone to get her mail & bring her packages to her door. She does all of her shopping online &
has everything delivered. This pandemic is many times harder for people with OCD. So you are definitely not alone. God bless you! It will be so wonderful when this nightmare ends, won't it?

You can ask your therapist for other things that can help you with OCD. There are many people who are suffering from this and the people who don't have OCD are also thinking like they have one as they are also washing their hands, again and again, to stay safe from COVID-19. Hope this ends soon and you feel better.

Thank you, yes I will have to ask her. And that's true, a lot of people even without OCD are having trouble.
