I'm new here, I am just trying to see if anyone is the same as me.
I clean and in a certain way and several times during the day and still have this feeling is not clean so I have to clean again and do thing in the same order every time if not i feel like I have to do it again.
Also i have to constantly put lotion on my hands and feet every time i get u from my bed at night If not I am just not comfortable.

I also have anxiety if I dont clean the house and seeing it dirty makes me get in a really bad mood.
If any one does the same I will like to chat
Thank you

Hello estrellaluna: I see this is your first post here on PC. Welcome to Psych Central.

You asked if your cleaning is OCD. We here on PC cannot offer mental health diagnoses. Plus I'm not a mental health professional. So I can't offer you a definitive diagnosis. From a lay-person's perspective, what you described does sound similar to what some folks who have OCD experience. However, whether or not what you experience could be diagnoseable as being OCD, is something a mental health professional would need to determine.

Perhaps there may yet be other PC members who have similar experiences they can share. In the meantime, I hope you find PC to be of benefit.

Here's a link to an article, from Psych Central's archives, on the subject of OCD:

Welcome to Psych Central! I'd be surprised if there weren't other people here who are into excessive cleaning. Let's hope they see your post and reply.

There are lots of people who suffer from this type of OCD and it is known as contamination OCD. In this people have fear of germs and they wash their hands and clean their surrounding everytime. This is very common and lots of people suffer from it.

attentionThis is an old thread. You probably should not post your reply to it, as the original poster is unlikely to see it.
