I have been diagnosed with Trichotillomania by a therapist back in 2011. I would take hours and hours to pull out my hair to the point of wearing a wig. I have been wearing a wig for many years. I was stressed, due to the trauma that I have experienced, often left me in deep humiliation and wearing a wig further humiliates me, as there were people who asked me whether I was wearing a wig. I am glad however from 2019 and onwards, I started to grow back my hair and right now I do not have to wear a wig. I felt relieved when I pulled out my hair and I started pulling my hair since I was young.

Possible trigger:
I would show it to my therapist to see it. I started doing this in 2017.

You have been through so much in your life. Things like those you had to bear in life often result in cutting and trichottolmania. The brain seems to have a mind of its own especially after tragic experiences in life. Wish I knew what to say that would help.

Not sure why I've been doing the pulling either, from my teenager years...over the years it's gotten worse and not many medication has been helpful. You can ask your doctor about a supplement called "NAC" it's been shown that it can help some people with hair pulling
