Okay, so I don't consider myself OCD, and none of these habits affect my life, but I recently told my boyfriend that I have a weird habit of tracing things with my eyes... mainly the ceiling fans, and the lines around the walls... I also count things in my head over and over and alot of times I will spell things out with my fingers (like I'm writing with my fingers) after I've said them or heard them from someone. I used to type everything in my head, but I don't do that anymore. He told me I was OCD.

Then Saturday I told him that I had taken the OCD quiz and that when I got my score that said I was definitely OCD, I took the quiz again to see if I'd get a different score. he laughed and said "Um, don't you realize that taking the test again makes you OCD?"

My brother used to say something out loud, and then whisper it back to himself every time he talked. I wonder if that is a slight OCD characterization?

(((((((((( soulmate )))))))))))))))

The whispering that your brother did does sound like it could be an ocd behavior, of course that diagnosis would have to be made by a doctor. Before I was diagnosed I always thought my ocd habits were just a sign of me being weird, I didn't think it was so much a disorder I just thought I had a brain defect. I knew that it effected my life somewhat but I didn't see how much until I really examined it and I have dibiltating ocd so maybe it is something that you should check into.

as far as i know, everybody's OCD is a little different. so what you are describing could in fact be some form of OCD. best thing always is to consult with a psychiatrist.

Thank you.... a couple of days ago the boyfriend noticed that when I eat something that has a definite shape, I eat all around the edges first then eat the middle. I've always done it. He called it "A typical"
I think he's giving me a complex!!!

I trace with my fingers too!! All the time! It's kind of compulsive seeing as I do it mostly all day no matter what I'm doing or what surface its on be it my arm or a table. I'm 17 and have done it since the 3rd grade. I hardly even notice until people ask what I'm doing.
Haha, just one of those little habits. I also sniff my drinking cups?
That's another story though... :]
