My grandparents and uncle are staying in my house for 6 days over Christmas.
Oh my god!!! I love them to pieces but I am getting quite panicky about there dirty, germynous. Especially, in the kitchen.
I am going to have to have separate food and dishes hidden away, so that I don't litterally starve for 6 days.
Plus, I have to make sure no one sees my "special ways" of preparing my food. And hide all the other nutty things I do around the house and in public.
And I so hope I don't flip out. Last visit, my Grandpa handed me a bowl and I litteraly shouted NO and ran into my bedroom, shut the door, fell on my bed and fought back tears. God knows what he must have thought?
And my OCD has gotten even worse since then.
My mom, who I live with, knows (I can eat, cook with her, and share dishes with her--I don't know why) about my OCD. My uncle knows. But my grandparents don't.
My mom wants me to tell them, as it might make things go more smoothly. But I don't know.
Are there any other germ phobics out there dreading Christmas??? How do you deal with it?

I do not have a germ phobia but I do think it would go smoother for you if you tell your grandparents about your ocd. I have told my family so they aren't to freaked out when it acts up.

i often feel i am getting sick if someone even mentions germs around me! i also have an extreme phobia about germs. i always have. it is, however, a tiny bit better than it was when i was younger.
