i couldn't find the old thread so i started a new one.

what p*sses me off is when you're in chat with someone and they say something like 'gotta go tc' and then leave all of a sudden without waiting for your reply. It makes you feel like they don't like you, don't value talking to you, and are telling you they have better things to do than talk to you. Especially if u r the only other one in chat. Anyone agree?

And beware anyone who does that again Pet Peeves

I agree that it makes me wonder if I smell bad or something. But, that is different then what happens to me A LOT, I either get booted by the server or my kid, or I get a phone call coming in at the same time I am on line so I have to put the computer on hold and answer the phone and I don't have time for an explanation. Sorry in advance and for the past when this occurs.

Yes, I agree that there are many reasons why someone leaves chat quickly, with little explanation.

Sometimes I may not wait bec. the other person takes so long typing an answer, I'm not even sure that he/she is paying attention, or if they are watching TV, dealing with a child, went to answer the door or phone, etc.

So I think it's probably wise not to ***'u'me and especially not to infer that it's because of us.

Hello there,

(((((((((((Sometimes))))))))))))))))))
I am at fault here. When my depression is bad sometimes I just hang out in the room and don't say anyting and I pop out of the room without saying anything. Excuse me , I am sorry for that. Its weird sometimes I want to be invisible in the room.

Take Care,

Often times one can trigger another in chat without intent. I'm not as often triggered as I was a few months ago, but there is one topic that is almost certain to set me off. When this happens, I close the chat window sometimes without saying a work. The only other time I leave chat in a rush is if the room is full and I'm irritated already. When I'm pissy, I just don't want to take the time to say good by to a million people. Call it rude if you will. I call it not further feeding my irritation... self care. As we come to know and understand eachother better, you'll se that it has nothing to do with anyone in particular.

Ryan, Leslie -- TY for being honest. These are other reasons I might leave seemingly abruptly.

I've also been in this situation at least twice: I'd just been in a conversation with someone who was needy. Given that I come here because I have needs of my own, that I set aside for a while, I was wrung out at the end, and had stayed online longer than I intended. I was the last person to leave the room, and before I did, someone new comes popping in. I didn't leave without a word, but I had a sense that the person who'd entered thought I was leaving "because of them" at least in one of those instances. I was sorry that I couldn't offer more reassurance -- but it was time for me to take care of me.

I leave with out saying bye sometimes because I am upset and don't want people to know, other times I do say bye but cannot wait for all of the responses because I have classes and meetings to get to it's no one inparticular it's just me being me! Please don't take offense to it.

God that drives me nuts when someone calls and then hands up when they realize they've dialed the wrong number. At least they could have the decency to say sorry. Grrrr.
