I know for me I do not celebrate many of the traditional holidays. Many are to overwhelming and some are just not in my belief system. But I tend to feel left out of the loop and just lonely on these days. So I came up with a few things to do on days like these.

1. Watch a no brainer comedy movie
2. Hey clean out that frig, check those dates, Is that left over starting to walk it's self right out of the frig??
3. Give your Kitty a bath, You know how much they Love the water.
4. Go find a mud puddle to jump in
5. Change the mini blinds or wash them ( I know there might be dust on them somewhere)
6. mop the kitchen floor, there's always something spilled on it
7. GET those unfinished craft projects out, see if you can finish one
8. Clean the area around your computer, There are always pieces of paper with notes on them and clean the dust off that monitor
9. Clean your closet out, re-discover your clothes, make up a bag to be sent to charity
10. Take care of your self, there are others of us out there who don't celebrate because we choose to or are unable too.

That's my top 10 for the day, so I better get going on those mini blinds, Thanks Monty Alternatives to holidays

Sounds like your plans are better than mine. Wanna clean my place too? I swear I'll stay out of the way.

I would have prefered to sit on the couch or in the pool all day today, that's what sundays are for!

That's a great list, Monty! I have been doing a lot of those things today, in fact!

About the kitty baths, mine tolerate it best if I sit on the bathroom floor (door closed!), put a towel on my lap, and start by brushing them. They like brushing! Then, I dip the brush into a bowl of warm water with a few drops of cat shampoo that I prepped before I sat down with the cat. Keep brushing/dipping until they are wet from the water on the brush, but they still don't realize it. Then, I dip a washcloth into the water and kind of rub them with it. Now they realize they're wet but it's too late to do anything about it. I can get their paws, faces, and, um, butt, with the washcloth. Then I hang the washcloth on my husband's towel bar (heh!). Lastly I dip a clean washcloth into another bowl that has warm clean water in it to clean off the soap.

They really don't mind it that way!

I sure wish my ferrets were self cleaning. I mean, they are until they wrestle their way into the litter pan. It's pretty gross.
