Some of you may have read my last thread where I told you all that I was giving up on becoming a psychologist having spent many years on trying to get there. I was lucky in having the option to go back to work with children.
Ages ago I filled out an application form to work with disabled adults but didn't hold out any hope for it as it is in management and having not earned that sort of money before really thought, I'll obviously not hear anymore about it. Well, on my birthday I received a letter for an interview for the job. I had thrown away the job description and person spec and didn't have a clue what it was for! I did a load of research and went for the interview this last Friday. Well, low and behold I got a phone call this morning saying that they were very impressed but thought my personality and empathy and warmth was fantastic and they'd like to offer me the job!!! So, I am in serious shock folks!

Yahoooooo!!!!!! Now that's a Birthday present!!!! How very very exciting this is.......I knew another door was going to open.......& to think you even threw away the information on the job because you applied for it so long ago....lol.
Disabled adults....disabled children.....it all takes loving kindness & a huge caring heart. "thought my personality and empathy and warmth was fantastic and they'd like to offer me the job!!" That must have been one great interview. I am so excited for you.....this is such wonderful news. I do believe that we each have a special purpose in our lives that our education & personality & talents all come together it.....this is so fantastic that you have been able to find it. This is truly a win/win situation.....you win with a new job and the individuals you will be supporting will win by having an extraordinary caretaker! It doesn't get any better than this! Don't forget, you can pick my brain anytime you need to since we are both now in the same line of work LOL (not that you would need to I'm sure!!!) sabby |
