Hi, steponme, welcome to PsychCentral. I use to get lost; I'd follow my thoughts and it was worse than Hansel and Gretel in the woods, LOL. I sometimes hated the time between therapy appointments because I'd move "forward" but I wouldn't have talked to anyone else/my therapist and trying to explain was impossible because so much had "happened" in my thoughts.

Have to stay focused outward and not spend so much time alone! One little thing that helped me was making sure I didn't spend 24 hours without talking to someone/going out, even if it was just to the store and commenting on the weather to the checkout clerk, etc. I have to have human contact daily.

by perna, good suggestion to have contact with other people every day. I would add to maybe try journaling? That might help you keep track of what you want to tell your therapist and also will slow down your thoughts. Journaling might help you focus and concentrate on the here and now better.

Can't stop you from praying and blessing me,
and if that makes you feel better feel free.
But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me.
And let's all respect each other's feelings.
With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings."
