I don't know what I'm thinking... I can't concentrate on anything... my thoughts are like a speeding train.

Jay , I know what you mean . Mine are still racing too . Last August I had to
see my Psych about it because it was so bad I even called an ambulance
because I thought I was having a stroke . It was just my thoughts , it was
like they were taking control over me . I was thinking about 30 things all
at once or at least it seemed that way. I was put on lorazepam and it helped
for a while , but now they seem to be coming back again. I don't know if
drugs are the answer , they might give you temporary relief but that seems
to be it , for me anyway. It's a real scary feeling when you can't seem
to control your thoughts. The best thing is to try to keep busy but it
is hard when you are depressed. I don't know what the answer is Jay ,
I really don't .

I hope you find a way soon to stop those racing thoughts or at least slow them down. Take Care

Just My Opinion, but I think for racing thoughts like you both are having you need more than lorazepam. "PRESCRIBED FOR: Lorazepam is used for the management of anxiety disorders, the short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety or anxiety associated with depression."From medicinenet.com. So if your depression, or maybe even bipolar if your thoughts race that badly, isn't being treated also then I would think those racing thoughts wouldn't be helped much.

I have racing thoughts when I go off my meds, when I'm on both an anti anxiety and depression med, my mind calms way down. That's my experience, may not be the same for either of you.

Hi Jays, sorry I was confusing. I was talking to you, and Babysteps because of her comment. Why did you stop your wellbutrin, not working good for you? I've never been on wellbutrin.

Please excuse me if you already typed this elsewhere...

But did you go off the Wellbutrin on your own or with the doc's advice? I hope the doc didn't just tell you to dump the Wellbutrin and not give you an alternative....

Or I might have to go all AMAZON on the doc

Lithium has helped me with racing thoughts so much. I hope you find your solution.

Back Again , Sorry Jay for jumping in but I've been taking
Wellbutrin for years now and I still have racing thoughts.
So I don't know if that would be the cause.
Just a thought guys. I am no Psych. Aren't you all glad of that .
But I wouldn't just quit it cold turkey . Too scared there might be
withdrawal symptoms. Good Luck Jay.....

Hi Amazonmom, I stopped the pills on my own and didn't tell the doctor.

I'm not mad at you... I don't get what you mean about the pills though.

Jay, I'm sorry the pills made you feel so weird that you dumped them.

Please forgive the nagging nurse in me that wants you to go back to the doctor...didn't you say you were on a wait list of some sort?

I say this because I want you to feel better.

I don't want to see the doctor... and I have to wait 4 months for the psychiatric assessment.

I understand, I"m there right now, feels like my brain is going to blow up, I"ve found listening to calming music via headphones helps bring focus, something soothing and quiet.

Good Morning Jay , What I meant about the Wellbutrin is that I am
a worrier and I tend to believe everything I read sometimes.
I got this list of withdrawal symptoms off the internet and
thought if I stop them suddenly, these symptoms MIGHT happen.
Everyone is different . Some people are not effected at all.

Wellbutrin Withdrawal Symptom List:
Anxiety
Dizziness
Fatigue
Muscle and joint pain
Jolting electric "zaps”
Tingling sensations
Vertigo
Gait disturbances
Restlessness
Tremors
Visual hallucinations
Headache
Insomnia
Nausea
Vomiting
Diarrhea
Blurred vision
Sweating
Fever
Abdominal discomfort
Aggression
Sleep disturbance and insomnia
Nightmares
Vivid dreams
Flu symptoms and general malaise
Anorexia, agitation
Irritability
Confusion
Memory and concentration difficulties
Chills and hot flashes
Crying spells
Suicidal thoughts
Lethargy
Weakness

THESE SYMPTOMS ARE POSSIBILITIES ONLY JAY..

That's all I was trying to say......I just worry TOO MUCH.

Hi Sparrow,

I'm sorry you are here too... my brain feels like it is going to blow up as well... in 98 they did x-rays on my head to see if there was anything wrong but I never went back cause I didn't trust the doctor at that hospital... he just kept smiling at me and I didn't like it.... it was like he was trying to read my mind or something.

Hi Babysteps,

Thank you for finding this info but that is not it... I have only been on Wellbutrin for about two weeks.
