Hello all.

I want to ask if there's some privacy issue if a PM that was sent to someone is reproduced and sent to another person without the original writer's consent.

I'd also like to ask what the purpose of the chatlogs are. Why was this feature made accessable to anyone who's in the PsychCentral chatroom.

Thanks.

I think forwarding a PM to another without the permission of the original PMer is a violation. If its not it should be. That is a breech of trust. Totally unacceptable. Did someone do this to you? What were the reasons behind it? Im sorry.

copy and past the above addy and it will tell you that discussing pm's it against guidelines.

chat logs allow a user to save chat because there's some information in there that they might find valuable and want to keep. also, it can be used to send to admin if someone's being abusive.

i hope that answers those two questions A question regarding Private Messages and chatlogs

I thunk that info in the FAQ is regarding POSTING info from a pm....not sending it in a pm to another poster. It may not be nice, but I don't think it's a violation of any rule.

emily, we'll have to ask ozzie or john about this one. i tend to disagree with you.

* Messages discussing a private message (PM) from others, including all administrative issues.*

PM's (private messages) are messages to me. I just assumed that any message witch discussed what's been said in PM's would be included. I could be wrong. Although, I don't think I've EVER been wrong before about ANTHYING A question regarding Private Messages and chatlogs LMAO.

OZZIE...JOHN...OTHER MODS? input on this please.

i'm still learning A question regarding Private Messages and chatlogs

Hello, Jmo531.

No one had done this with a PM of mine. Just curious.

Okay...I Just read the Community Guildlines for this site.

Hmmm. Still left a bit puzzled, though.

Bye, Jmo531.
