Hi carebear, welcome to Psych Central. There's lots of nice people here and you'll get a lot of wonderful support. I wish I could help you but I'm wrestling with the same issues. Do you have a t and/or pdoc?

Welcome aboard Carebear. Glad you made your to us here at PC. I can relate to the anxiety and manic energy! I can only tell you what has worked for me. I live my life in controlled environments...work, home, friends, etc..., journaling is very important and you can keep track of what triggers you and the types of cycles you may be going through, meds have helped me when I needed them, meditation or deep breathing exercises and also for me, prayer. But the most important of all is to discover the source of your anxiety attacks and tackle the problem head-on. I know all of this is easier said than done, but we're all here to support you and encourage you.

I'm mostly in the bi-polar forum, come on by, we're always looking for in-put.

((((((((((((((CAREBEAR)))))))))))))

I too have been dx'd with depression, anxiety and OCD. I have a few tricks that I try when I'm wound up. For sleeping at night I have a buffet of teas. Chamomile, Tension tamer and sleepytime. I have some soothing sound CD's also I play while I sleep this lets my mind concentrate on sounds rather then my racing thoughts.
For day time, I try to read up on my disorders. Not only does this take your mind off racing thoughts it gives you insights on how to further deal with panic attacks. I also do crossword puzzles, oragami. This takes concentration which allows your mind to rest from the anwful anxiety and racing thoughts. It's also good to set outside and look at the world. Admire the beauty we to often overlook. That is just a few of my coping techniques. I have also been taking meds for about 4 1/2 months so this also helps with my anxiety and depression. I'm also in therapy. It's a combination of all these things that are needed for my recovery. I hope I have helped you a little bit. Take care and I'm throwing some good vibes your way.
