I love PC because it allows me to feel connected to people...which is a difficult thing for me to do. It provides me with social time, even though online, and it serves as a place where I can speak with others who have been through similar situations. I can get support here...more than I get from any other besides T, and I can help support others!!

I also love PC because it is ran by a licensed Psychologist who watches over PC and it has level headed moderators who help to keep things running smooth.

Thanks to everyone involved in making PC a place to find comfort, gain knowledge, and feel safe.

I love PC because I can say whatever I want (mostly) and have no judgment made of me. I can trust that DocJohn will make the best decisions for everyone. I can trust the mods to keep everyone safe as much as possible.
I love PC, mainly, because of the people! There are SO MANY wonderful people here who, even though going through hard times themselves, still give all they can for those who need it.

I have always had trouble telling people what I need. It has been one reason my life has been so mixed up. The reason is because when I was growing up, my alcoholic mother would never listen to me when I told her what I needed. So I learned not to bother asking.

Not too long ago, I told my husband that I needed contact with people who understand what it's like to have what I have, bipolar illness. He said he understood that I needed that. I have always isolated and I do not have any friends. I finally admitted that I need people in my life.

One day I found PC. I think all of you are my reward for learning to say out loud what I need. And you are a wonderful reward! You make me feel alive. You make me feel needed. You understand what I've been through. And you have given me so much, you have no idea.

I love pc because....

I've found PC to be an community that our real world community could certainly learn from.

Acceptance, Fairness, Respect, Support, Safety, Health, Guidance, Education, Equality and mostly Love.

This community of ours reminds me of what a community may be like filled with unsighted residents. No judgements passed on appearance. We see eachother as we ARE, inside.
It doesn't matter the hour of the day, we all share a darkness, yet we shed light into eachother's lives regardless of what time it is for those who are awake and cannot sleep.

There is always someone here who's holding a hand, lending an ear, mending a wound, lifting a spirit or cradling a weeping soul.

Unitement is the key to PC, and I am proud to be of support to those I can, as well as equally proud to say I receive support from all who care.

I came to PC 5 years ago this October, in the middle of a crisis. I was on the computer looking for information to try & help my Mother who was dying of cancer, I was fed up with my marriage of 30+ years & I was loosing an extreme amount of weight again this time from all the stress I was dealing with. I felt alone against the world. Fighting to get right care for my Mother that only ended up in a trauma situation with the home care person & abuse.

What a great way to introduce myself to PC.....the most messed up I had been in years. What I found here was a wonderful group of caring, supportive people who guided me through the horrible time & helped me understand the feelings I was experiencing that were way beyond grief. PTSD was a foreign concept to me, but the guiding here helped me communicate with my pdoc so he could understand what was happening to me & that it wasn't JUST anorexia or grief.

I was definitely in need of being around caring people as there weren't any there IRL.....the wonderful part of PC was that not only was I able to get support, but there were people here who were in need of support......what a wonderful way to take your mind off of yourself & care for others who many were in greater need than myself.

The more time I spent here, the more
wonderful, loving, kind people I ended up meeting. The desire to give back support in return for all I had received was a great reason for staying. The wonderful online relationships have grown......along with a chance to actually turn one of those online relationhips into a IRL meeting which has turned into a very special friendship. Add to that, by chance, I ended up reconnecting with a friend I went to college with. How exciting that was as we had been very good friends & his first date with the girl that is now his wife was at my wedding (oh, some 30 years before).

The next challenge that PC got me through was my move across the United States, alone.....driving the moving truck 2 years ago. That trip would have been unbearable if it hadn't been for my nightly check-in & the wonderful caring people who made the trip in spirit with me. The love, concern, & encouragement was the only thing that made the trip bearable.....the anticipation of chatting & communicating each night got me through each day's drive.

Of course, to top it all, has to be the absolute wonderful caring, loving support by everyone who helped me get through my financial mess with my heat pump situation this year. Not just the financial part of the support, but the emotional support was far greater here at PC than anything IRL.

I think the reason I love PC the most however is that it has given me a chance to care for & give support to others. Learning how to express that support in a constructive way is challenging but very important ability to have. It's something I work at & am not always successful at, but the love & caring that overflows here at PC makes it a goal, not just because of the guidelines, but the because of the loving people who are here, needing kind & loving support that sometimes goes beyond the need for a hug.

I always found IRL that I would end up giving support to others, but when I would end up in need, it wouldn't be there.....here at PC, it's feels just the opposite, so I am always striving to give back as much support as I am capable of. What helps make PC such a wonderful place to start with are
DocJohn's guidelines. They have created a very safe environment for us all to function under & his caring concern for the mental health online community has definitely provided us with a unique opportunity to be able to share & care & learn so much more about each other in a non-judgmental environment. If the world could exist together the way our cummunity here does.....what a wonderful place it woud be IRL.

What I love most about PC is being able to provide support to others & maybe making a little positive difference in their life.

I found PC while I was going through a major crisis in my life - a failing marriage and a brother who recently committed suicide. It was the impossible marriage problem that caused me to reach out. I had a secret that I couldn't share with anyone in real life and it was eating me up inside. It was like I was carrying a heavy cement block on my back, all the time.

So when I found PC I was able to anonymously share my problem which allowed me the relief of 'unloading that block'. I still have that problem but at least it's not strangling me at the moment.

I also discovered that I have the gift of making a difference with my words and started volunteering in the Q&A section. I've helped several posters who've been suicidal and this makes me feel happy. I also managed to convince an abused woman to leave her husband and now she's safe. I think deep inside that saving someone else from the depths of their pain, was my way of making up for not being able to save my own brother. I know this sounds sad but it's also inspiring that goodness can come out of tragedy.

I agree with... well... everyone ^^ I signed up a while ago but... kind of forgot about it. I was recently clearing out my mail, and saw a newsletter from here. I got browsing the site again, and I actually paid attention to the forums for the first time. Everybody here's so friendly =O it's like no matter what you say, what you do, there's always someone there who agrees with you or knows what you're talking about. I honestly don't think I've found a community as friendly as this =)

I love PC because::

It taught me to accept who l am
It introduced me to the most wonderful caring supportive people
It saved me from the brink of suicide
It helped me see why l felt/feel the way l did/do
It showed me l was NOT ALONE even when it felt l was
It showed me how to show compassion and to help others in need

BUT most of all

It introduced me to my closest firend in my whole life.....Daynnight thank you for who you are, and for all the kindness, love, support, compassion and for seeing me for me instead of my mental health labels
And for all the wonderful many many friends that l have met here

We love you all, thank you PC
thank you doc John, all admin, mods and everyone here who make it all possible

sometimes words could go on forever.....and when describing what PC does for me that is how it feels

Like everyone says.

I have never found anywhere as supportive and understanding and wanting to understand as here. I think DocJohn has made a major contribution to the well-being of the world by just letting us have this place.
