Since i have been recovering since my attempt and going the challenges of looking for work, i have spent a lot more time on these boards. I average around 2 hours daily. How about you? How much time do you spend here at pc?

Good question and I love your name BTW. I spend about 3hrs but I'm going to cut back. I really think it can be addicting - you go back and fourth reading responses. I used to exercise and haven't been doing any and I literally feel weaker.

On a weekday, I can spend up to 2 to 3 hours here. On a weekend, if I have nothing planned, I spend the entire darn day refreshing to look for something new
I know that I have spent a good 12 hours here (in and out) at one time.

LOL! I don't WANT to know! I pop in and out while at work and at home... It's comfortable.

I spend 15 hours at a stretch at PC since discovering it, staying long after my back has begun to scream in protest at this unrelenting chair. My previous escape of television has gone by the wayside. It's addictive and fascinating, as well as heartwrenching and heartwarming to see what others are going through. It's the best therapy there is. billieJ

I try not to spend as much time on it as i use too. Other wise I forget real life
I do keep all of you in my thoughts thou
I have found getting outside and doing things helps my mood alot.
All of you have helped me very much.
Just because i am not here as much i want you to know you are in my prayers and thoughts.

I dont spend much time on line here or anywhere. In my opinion computer is a poor substitue for real life. I have a few college friends that "live" on their computers. when they wake up in the morning the first thing on their minds isnt saying good morning to their roommates, and spending time with their friends. its climb out of bed boot up the computer grab coffee off the hot plate and for the next many hours you dont hear or see them until they walk into class late. sit down and start gossipping with the person sitting next to them about what was going on, on this support group or that one on line and can you belive.. well you get the picture.

for me I would rather experiece real life then sit for hours in front of a screen typing for hours on end to people who I cant see and gosh knows whether they are the woman or man they say they are. I would rather be out laying on a blanket looking out at the grreat lake, spending time with my partner, or spending time with other friends, or even just doing my homework.

My mom tells me all these stories about how things were before modern technology took over social networking. she makes camping, mountian climbing, siting around the house swapping stories, being connected with extended family, even traveling by gray hound bus, or the family car sounds so exciting when she tells me about all her summer travels with her family. people were close and amazing back in those days. even school has changed my neice uses a computer to do classwork now. when I was in elementary school we had to pair up and do experiments together to do math and social studies. As I watch the kids today down by the lake they are all sppread out talking on their cell phones, texting and checkin gout whats on line instead of face to face socializing. its like a majority of them dont know how to socialize face to face anymore.

with all this in mind I dont allow the computer, cell phones and other modern technology take over my life. I take time to experience real things like planting a garden, taking walks with my friends, hanging out with my friends. Just enjoying being apart of something that is real life world not virtual reality.
