Where was the notice for? Your non profit bakery site? Your home for you and papa?

Exactly what is the notice for and how long do you have? If residential (not your non profit) then Nolo Press might have advice in a book available at most libraries about what your rights are.

I've dealt with many 30 day notices to move due to properties being sold that I had been renting but eviction is a separate process and has to be dealt with in a specific legal manner.

Let us know more as you can Angie.

Angie,

What you may be able to do to fight this depends greatly on why they're evicting you. Can you tell us why they gave you the notice?

Love and hugs darlin',
Greg

Angie, please don't be offended, but maybe we could get Doc John to start a donation fund for members in need. It was discussed a bit previously reguarding homeless members, but maybe we could just plain have a fund for people in need. I'd give till I was dry. Anyone else?

Angie, call Human Services and ask to get a copy of the landlord/tenant rights. There might be something in there that can help you not get kicked out, or maybe get a little more time. It's only a couple of pages long and not too terribly difficult to understand.

I guess I should consider myself lucky. My current landlord doesn't have a fit if I space off paying the rent on time. He even let me stretch it out a couple of weeks one time because I needed car repairs at the same time rent was due. Maybe you'll get lucky with your next landlord, if you can't fight this.

If DocJohn sets up a fund, I'll give what I can. It won't be a lot, but maybe if everyone can give just a little it will be enough.

Ang, you know what I've been through this past week, well, I got a great deal of leads on how to get money for rent, electric, phone, any "necessity". The Salvation Army has a program that if you BRING THEM the eviction notice, along with ID that this is your residence, they will give you some or all of the $ you need. So get to your local Salvation Army ASAP because they do it kinda like a cattle call, if you can get your name on the list of alloted people in need, especially if you have children...they give everything they can though a special fund.

I took far too long to explain a simple resolution. Sorry, you know how I am. LOL. TgrsPurr.

I hate to be the one who says, "Yeah let's do that" and not do it myself, but I'm down to my last $15 bucks. But I think a fund is a great idea.

Sorry NT-babe, I wish there was something I could do. I'll be thinking of you.

Thanks Rebound, no problem
Thanks to everyone, I would be very honored if Doc could set up a program to help, the last time we had a need I donated to it and now I need
Maybe this is what it means when they say "As you give so shall you recieve"

Yeah, I am definitly willing to donate as much as I can. I thought that eviction law requires a 30 day notice. This is awful. Angie I am so sorry. What can I do? Ry, Did you PM Ozzie and Doc J? We need to do something here. We cant let this happen. Got an eviction notice

Angie, it is illegal in my state to give less then a 30 day and mostly a 60 day notice. You might want to call someone from the disability law project.

Hi Angie --

I'm so sorry that this happened. I've heard it said that it is easier for a bank to seize a home for nonpayment of mortgage than it is for a landlord to evict a tenant. It does generally require a bit more than a note on your door.

Best wishes for a happy outcome.

It's used a lot for Ebay. Its an online payment thing. You can have the money deposited/withdrawn directly into your account.

It would be worth noting that a Paypal account can receive up to $500 and remain *free* to the user receiving money. Over $500 and you have to explore the paid accounts (I have no idea what that entails).
