*#$&!*$&^! computer! Couldn't even get it to boot in safe mode. dang compy!

Am on borrowed time on machine that makes me long for the library Internet access with its hour wait times and hour limit and the oh so diverse crowd that makes up the library population in this town. Yep I'm wishing I had that instead of this.

always what we don't have we want so badly, eh?

I'll cut short a ramble and sum it up quickly. Mothership has left and about day after that compy went bonky wonky and here I am on borrowed compyesque media center thingy.....don't ask.

So if PMs take a while for me to return or posts seem to be ignored it isn't your imagination. I'm popping on and trying to remain connected long enough to post and read my PMs but that appears to be asking the moon and stars. dang compy!

yes I often picture tossing the whole set up out the window and into traffic. A bus would be the end to this electronic demon that masks as my compy. dang compy!

Hope your crew of circuitry gets its act together soon! I'm waiting on my free tech support which is at the leisure of his schedule. Oh well. I'm doing the best I can with the tools I have and I'm silly to be beefin' about this technology when I'm in my own house and not at the library waiting and waiting and waiting.

compy likes the manly touch of my tech support versus my totally basic knowledge of the os and set up once the drive sounds like it is failing. I've reached my limit of what to do to make it work so now I turn it over to personal tech support/housemate.

thanks. I remember when you and your compy were in an un-love fest! I'm seriously un-loving my compy right now. grrrr.

I do. I've tried many things and this wonkiness it is doing is something beyond my computer knowledge. I turn it over to personal tech support and he'll make it better soon.

Thanks for asking sweetie. You're helpful ya know. dang compy!

hey there __zh,

It must be an epidemic.....I have been cursing my puter for the last 2 weeks....it is a 2 year old laptop that decided to show me it's terrible 2's.

I'm thinking there is a lot of AI (artifical Intelligence) in these things & are programmed to know how to give owners "mental abuse". Didn't think they could take things personally, but I think it doesn't like the way I look at it & desides to shut down.

Actually started slowly by shutting down if I moved it, thinking the power cord was loose. That evolved to the point where I would just jiggle a little, trying to get comfortable & it would shut off. Then it got to the point after screaming & yelling at it, it would just sit in front of me & turn off or just shut down it's LCD.

Guess we all have gotten dependent on our "dang" puters. Wonder it there is a Psych Dx for that??? But I showed him,,,,,I just bought a new laptop yesterday.....way kool...shouldn't have trouble until the warrantee is up in 3 years cause they never go out for me until after the warrantee . They always know how & when to get even.

member of the puter epidemic club,
Debbie

I recently had some serious compy woes. Have you considered relationship counselling with your compy? It really helped me out. I'm referring to a basic course in computers. You can take them most anywhere. You learn things like changing out hardware, fixing basic software issues, spyware removal, virus education, etc. Just a thought. Take care dearheart and good luck with compy.

Wish I could offer advice, but you already figured out the throwing it out the window thing.

Hope it gets resolved soon.

You're too funny! dang compy! You sure did show your old compy who was boss by getting a new laptop! Wish I could pressure my compy with a little competition but alas......

My own compy is still bleh but the network is back up so hopefully I won't have to keep switching modems on this strange machine I am using.

I know what you mean though about looking at it funny and the dang thing shutting down! I thought I was the only one who came across possessed computers. *lol*

One of the first things I usually try is the disconnect all power cords, pick up machine and monitor and walk out front door..... dang compy!

Yeah the toss it out the window option is soooooo appealing when the dang thing gets funky and not in that good funky way.
