My mood has jsut been all over the place lately.... from intense depression, to ok, to happy, to angry, back to depressed. These past couple weeks it's gotten so much worse. Anyway, today I woke up just in a horrible mood and kinda went back and forth throughout the day. Towards the end of the day, I was real depressed again and decided to sit with my sister for a while and she was playing this heavy metal song that I for whatever reason found hilarious. This was such a wierd experience, like I felt like I was losing it because I was really really upset and couldn't stop crying, but at the same time I couldn't help but laugh at a song that definately was NOT funny. I'm just really confused. I didn't think it was possible to feel oppposite emotions like that at once. Has this happend to anyone else?

It's been happening to me a lot lately. I have to admit that I don't understand the reasons why.
I don't experience anger, though. Just an abundance of extreme sorrow and sadness, then without warning bounce back to feeling fine again.

I'm not on any meds or have been dx'd with anything, (although I'm beginning to wonder if I should get myself down to clinic to see what really is going on with me, anymore), so I can't exactly contribute these emo swings to the effects of meds.
However, it's very likely that I'm beginning to experience hormonal changes...I guess....won't know til I get self down to find out.

From what I understand, depending on if you're on medications, have changed to new, your dx, and your age...all can contribute to the confusions of the emotions you're experiencing.

I hope all works out for you, and you don't have to go through the extremes for long.

Sure. Not only can you feel conflicting emotions in rapid succession, but you can feel them at the same time. For example, you can feel happy to have a day off school or work and sad if you are lonely on that day off.
