First of all, I spoke with my boss today and told her that I wanted to give my two weeks notice. I'm not the type of person to leave a job without proper notification, as I dont want to "burn any bridges" and there may come a day when I may need them for a reference. So, my last day is on June 14th. My boss asked if I could work until the 17th as my position is a "Senior" position and they want me to help them rap up some looses ends and replace my position with someone that I will need to "train". Per my Therapist, she wants me to only work Part time during this period because she thiniks that the full time will be to much for my anxiety right now.
#2 I have put my house on the market and will be moving also. The realtor says that in this market and in my area, We should be out of here with in 30-60 days. I am excited but at the same time I am really scared. We are not moving down the street. We are moving across the country to Texas. My husbands sister and her husband are there with their kids and my husbands aunts live there so we wont be totally alone. I will be moving to the San Antonio area. I am so looking forward to this. Another chapter in my life. My kids are ok about the move now but they were devistated at first. I think that is to be expected though. I need to find new doctors, therapist, dentist and everything. Boy do I have my work cut out for me. LOL. Anyway, I just wanted to share the latest details. Luv ya guys. |

Hey Jen
That will be good if you are able to work part-time- hope that works out for you. You sure do have a lot going on!! A bit of advice, when I moved cross-country-- from Florida to the great southwest--- I found that making lists was the most helpful. I could never remember all the things I needed to do just off the top of my head! What a sight we were!!! A U-haul truck- the longest they make-pulling one car, me driving the other car, with a two year old and a five year old, big wheel bikes strapped on the top of the car for the kids to use everytime we stopped at a rest stop--- Oh yeah-- plus a hamster that got out of his cage in Lousiana and was found when we stopped over night at Dallas, in the trunk of the car!! On the road 5 full days-- kind of felt like we were on a wagon train--- not very fast!! I bet you'll have some stories to tell when it's all done too--- just remember to keep a sense of humor-- helped me from losing my mind!!-- at least I thought it did!! LOL!! Mandy |

I'll still be your neighbor Angie.
![]() Good luck on the move, Jen. It sounds like you have thought this out. Being close to family is so helpful! LMo talks about craigslist.com they might help you find new docs and such. Travel safe!

Hullo Jen,
You may have discussed what I'm about to ask in prior posts, but unfortunately I missed them or was too psychologically hamstrung by my recent difficulties to read them. What sparked this decision to make this big leap, if you don't mind a curious cat asking? Whatever did, best of luck with all of these changes -- you surely deserve something to look forward to. Ta. (((((((((((((((((((((Parker))))))))))))))))))))))
((((((((((((((((((((Cat))))))))))))))))))))))))))) ((((((((((((((((((((((((Texas))))))))))))))))))) Well, let see, Parker, you are right. This is a weird move for me as my family (mom, step dad, brother and sis) lives here. I had a long talk with my mother today and she cried which made me cry so it really didnt help matters any. ![]() Cat, This decision has not been easy for me or my husband. Several reasons went in to this decision. I will talk about the most important. I have lived in Northern Virginia since I was 5. So leaving will be very hard for me. As a teenager, moving out on my own was easy and affordable. Now it is not that way. The average selling price of a home/townhome/condo in my county was estimated at 600,000.00. This is crazy. I want my children to be able to rent or buy a home when they are able and in this area that can NOT happen with the rising costs of living. It is nearly impossible. My husband and I will be able to but this house in San Antonio out-right.....No mortgage. This is a once in a life time oppourtunity. We are doing this for the family. It makes the most sense. We are actually thinking about buying two homes and renting one of them out. We'll see though. I am looking for some relaxation from this "fire cracker, on the go, road rage" life that exsists in my area. The DC metro area has grown beyond what I ever expected and it is just too darn over populated for my taste and I have to think of my children also. So basically, those are some of the factors that went in to making this major decision. Thanks for asking cat. Hope all is well with you. I havent seen you too much lately. How are you doing? Talk to you soon. Luv, Jen Texas, I have heard that San Antonio is a very beautiful city and I am looking forward to this. I have heard that the people are nice and friendly. Quite honestly, I'm not sure what that is like. It's definitly not like that here. Once I am down there, I will post some pictures so you can see your home state of TEXAS. LOL. And also, I am a DALLAS fan so this is extra sweet. LOL |

Welcome to Texas Jen! You'll love it here and San Antonio is a fun city to live in. Prepare to keep cool...we're already having a whopper of a Spring and it feels like Summer with 100 degree heat.
Welcome Texasrosemj! What part of Texas are you from (if I may ask)...I'm a Dallasite. Look forward to getting to know you. Missi ![]() ![]()
