I think if there was a chat on Xmas day or eve, it would be polarized with a few very happy people and the majority of very sad and depressed people who have no one to spend Xmas with. Mix that with some people drinking and I think it would be a fiesty mix LOL - made need a referee.

I'd go - but my eyes can't handle chatrooms anymore.

Let us know who goes home wearing a lampshade for a hat, who swung from the chandeliers, and who was a sour pus all night.

It sucks to be the designated driver, huh? Oh well - enjoy your party!

You know what's strange - I feel very uncomfortable in chat rooms but completely relaxed posting. I think it comes from me being shy. Once I accidently clicked on the chat square and didn't know what to say LOL.

The first time I entered a chatroom, I got scared off by a man who called himself Snake and he was WAY out there. It took me a long time to realize it was a pretty secure chatroom, so I slithered back into the room. I made a lot of very good friends there. We laughed together, we cried together - sometimes we even fought with each other. It was the closest thing to instant family I've ever known, once you get to know all the players.

We all loved Snake too - he kept us on our toes. He was an old man suffering from ALS.

If you're able to go to the party - don't step on any Snakes! If you're slow like me....stay home and read all about it here in the forums.
Thanks for this!

I wouldn't worry if a stranger walked into your room and pee'd all over your party, Even if they're mean and ugly, they probably just want to connect with others who are alone this time of year. I'm pretty sure DocJohn and the moderators would be able to clean up that mess. You can tell us all about it, and we all can have a good laugh.

I remember years ago being at a wild club - The Exit - everyone was out on the dance floor having a good time. We were all young and beautiful. A disheveled old man wearing a trench coat and carrying a bottle in a paper bag wandered into the club and onto the dance floor. Instead of kicking him out, we all embraced and danced with him. When he couldn't take all that loud music and dancing anymore, he wandered back out into the streets. We never saw him again. Who knows, maybe he learned a lesson that day about walking in through The Exit door.

I'm interested of course! Always good to connect with those you care about on special holidays, imo. I'm not too much of a morning person ... nor too late at night... see when the regular chats are successful (time wise) and go for it? Might consider a short chat for the UK'ers in the afternoon, and another in the late evening for USA'ers? Are there any specials on TV / cable we would want to work around?

I think there would be the usual blend of moods and emotions even for Christmas, Christmas eve.... and no one needs to feel like they have to put on a happy face just because. (But you do feel better when you smile and laugh.)

Maybe you all can play tag as host - make it an all day party. When one gets tired, you can put on your lampshade and head out the door - ask the one swinging from the chandelliers to step up to the plate and host the party. Orrrrrrrr - you can overlap and be the Hostesses with the Mostesses and feed everyone sugar plums - or challenge them to a good ol fashioned food fight.

Kathy- Thats a GREAT idea. A revolving door type room.

if those of you interested to give a general time you can commit to being there, GREAT. That way I share the work and dont have to be there all day, and i imagine that with all of us dropping in we can almost leave the room open or the day or most of it.

I would be interested in a chat on Christmas day, Eve is with my family, Day is only hubby and me- he'll most likely watch a movie, so chatting would be good, maybe make it for happier thoughts though.

Okay, I will try to be here around 3EST both xmas day and xmas eve.

If anyone else can commit to being here other times, please drop a note. Hopefully there will end up being people in and out, much like IRL!

I am not much of a chatter, have never been in one of the rooms here..but I know I will be hanging about watching DVD's Xmas eve and day, waiting for it to be over...so maybe I'll stop by. Is it OK if I don't actually say anything?

I would be available around 9AM (EST) on Christmas day (but I don't know how to start a chat). I would most likely want to chat again 3PM or so. I'll keep checking here.

I'd be interested if I knew the time....I am one of those who would like to know there is a bit of someone to share the day with.. I'll be all alone and will usually sit and wallow in self pity if I don't have something else to do...

I have gone to chat several times in the past two weeks and generally get ignored.. even after trying to ask a few questions or try to bring others out that are/may be lurking.

Maybe if I knew there would actually be someone there that would talk to me, I'd also be a bit more inclined. Maybe two different times? One in the morning and one in the eve? A chance for those in different time zones to be able to get a bit of support thru the day? I'd be willing to help If I'm not to new here???
