...that today makes it 4 years since everything started: the bullying, my anxiety, all of this. On February 23, 2006, I went to talk to the school counselor. She went to get me, but went to the wrong classroom. Some of the other students found it funny that I was seeing her, and they made up a rumor about me. I remember the note someone left in a desk. It said "Megan likes ****** and wants to have sex with ******" (names ommited). This freaked me out. I mean, I'd never heard a rumor spread about me before. Anyways, from there on went a long journey with my anxiety and the other things that they'd said about me. In the rest of 5th grade into 6th, I was terrified that someone would come up to where I was standing with my friend during recess and start to pick on me. In 7th grade, I toughened up a bit, but my anger at them was just there to mask my fear. 8th grade brought some relief until I moved. Now, 9th grade, I still have the fear, but less of it. And if someone talks about me, you can bet I will confront them about it. I'm aware that some people may not see what I'm writing here as a big deal, but this is my journey..a short detail-lacking version of it anyways. I am a different person than I was 4 years ago. She's stronger, and she knows that she will be something someday if she works hard enough. I think I like her

I am glad that you were forged and tempered into a stronger more confident person by what life has dealt you especially at this stage of your life. I hope your peers can see your strength and resilience and learn from it. Many of us here could learn from it as well. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you. I don't think I've won yet...I've still got a ways to go. But this thing will not kill me.

(((((Indie))))) Keep that attitude and you will be fine. I'm so sorry this happened to you. But you are wise, strong and brave. Those three things will serve you well.

![]() I'd rather have a visit, note or pretty picture than an "I'll say a prayer" or a "god bless you." Doesn't make me feel better, no meaning to me for sure. Can't stop you from praying and blessing me, and if that makes you feel better feel free. ![]() But keep it to yourself please, don't tell me. And let's all respect each other's feelings. With kindness, support and "sweet dreamings." ![]() |
