I'm not saying that I have full expertise when I make this group on facebook but I make a group that I'd like to share. I hope it doesn't clash with this site as I know it partially deals with the same issue(s). On facebook the group is called "Andy's Mental Illness Awareness Group".

For 2 descriptions I've got these 2 captions:

Code:
This group was created to help people who have mental illness. Coming myself from a world with mental illness (bipolar disorder), I know what it's like being a part of the mental health "system". If you too have a mental illness come and share...
Code:
This group is for people who have mental illness to help them express their feelings and to help spread awareness about mental illness (such as anxiety, depression, bipolar, etc.).
Now I know I don't have Bipolar Disorder like I say I do in the first caption but I didn't think people would know schizoaffective, so I used my previous dx.

I'm hoping the group does well. It's open to the public (which may tie in as a bad thing I know; for now I see how it plays out), but I wanted you guys to be the first to know about it.

Thanks for taking the time to read about my new "creation" and reading my post...

Andy....
Thanks for this!

I am not sure this is a good idea. No offense, but employers can go through your facebook and the groups you are member of are visible to everybody (unless there is some setting I am not aware of).

In the past employers and others had used to info found on facebook against the person.

I know you meant well, but please be aware that some people might misuse the information shared on there. And no, I am not being paranoid...

A good reminder! Social networking is fun and can keep us in touch with our friends and family, but it also can be opened -- often unintentionally -- to others who might not be so positively inclined toward us, our groups or causes. Just something to keep in mind...
