its time i did something about my health, i have been on meds now for a while a antidepressant, changing it when i don't think its doing the job any more and blood preasure meds my blood preasure has been steady on meds for nearly two years but i went for a regular appointment and doctor found my blood preasure higher than normal, so i had to go bk so last weds i went bk again and it was even higher, so before she changes meds she wants to check that its is high blood pressure for i had been under some stress she took bloods and ordered me a cuff to check pressure over a 24hr period they phoned yesterday to get this organized, i have an appointment on the 22nd to get it fitted i will then go bk next day to have it removed,

so back to my health change, i dont sit in front of the computer as much as i used to i wander around between rooms doing bits here and there , but since i stopped working i put on a lot of weight so here gos i think i need to start of walking again, so i am going to walk around the estate we live on first for a few wks then see if i can push it a bit further,

((Katheryn)) - good for you for being proactive with your own health. It's good you're starting slow and gradually increase. I have to do the same. I know what it feels like to be in top shape and it feels great. This last year I really slacked off. While you're at it, you may as well take a look at your diet and see any little changes you can make there as well. I believe we have a lot of control over our own health.

I know you recently lost your best friend and I'm so sorry about that. Has her death inspired you to take better care of yourself?. When my mother had a series of strokes several years ago, this encouraged me to really look at my own diet. Best of luck Katheryn.

Good for you (((((((((( Katheryn ))))))))))))!

I'm so glad to hear you are considering some changes and thinking it's time to take care of YOU! You so deserve it

It's unfortunate that the loss of a beloved friend or family member makes us take stock in ourselves, but I know for a fact that those who left us want us to take care of ourselves.....so in essence it is a good thing!

I'm sending you healing and motivational thoughts to keep you going through your wonderful changes!

"yes my friends death has made me stop and think even though i know she wasnt overweight[/quote]"

I hear what you're saying Katheryn. When my mom had her 1st stroke she was a lean 117lbs and 5'6". But she loved butter and didn't cut the fat off steaks. Off course there's the genetic component and the fact she smoked also. I hope the fact I don't smoke and watch my diet will help me avoid having a stroke -I'm really scared of having the same thing happen.
