Hi, i'm 17. I feel like a total tramp. I'm a religious person, i believe in saving myself for marriage and that has always been how i feel. Recently my boyfriend of 1 year and i had sex. It was a heat of the moment type of thing, and although it was amazing, I regret it completly because i went back on everything I believed in. I'm completely petrified i may be pregnant. I was wondering if any of you could help me and tell me signs of early pregnancy, like a week after conception. I'm sorry to gross out the guys, but i don't start my period until the end of the month or beg of next month and i can't wait that long to know. Is there anyway I can find out before without my parents suspecting anything. I can't buy a home pregnancy test they'd find out. We used the withdrawal method for brith control but i read that he can let some go inside of me without feeling it. I'm so scared I don't know what to do. This isn't like me at all, i feel horrible about it. please help me!!!!

is there a planned parenthood clinic, near you? you can go there, for counseling and a pregnancy test. can a friend buy a test for you? i send my concern and care to you.....i'm sorry that i can't do more. abstinence is best and if not that, birth control is a must. xoxo pat

Bayley,
I agree with everyone else. Abstinance is the BEST method. But since you've already done the deed, the second best thing for you to do is to take a pregnancy test somehow. Hope4me2 mentioned that you could go into a Wal-Mart, buy the test, take it to the bathroom, and use it. Surely, your parents wouldn't find out that way. And, I'm not saying that you should completely keep your parents in the dark about everything. I was only 18 when I had my first child (I'm 25 now), and I took the pregnancy test in the restroom of a gas station. I know you are nervous...probably a wreck. But if you do find out you are pregnant then I think you should definitely tell your parents. They might be more understanding than you think. Please keep all of us posted on the whole situation! I wish you the best of luck! pregnancy

The morning-after pill is usually a high-hormone birth control pill that prevents the egg from fulling implanting in the uterine lining, so it's shed just like during normal menstruation... but it has to basically be taken 'the morning after'.

I'm a big advocate of condoms, myself - not everyone can abstain from sex, but everyone can & should protect them selves & their partners from unwanted pregnancies & STD's.

Good suggestions above.

Please get more educated about sex. Read. Ask more questions. There is no reason this should happen in the "heat of the moment." CONDOMS CONDOMS CONDOMS . . . not only is there pregnancy to worry about . . . worry about sexually transmitted diseases. Genital warts may not show up for years (internal or external). HIV, of course. And, do you realize there are several types of hepatitis?? These are hepatitis A (HAV), hepatitis B (HBV), hepatitis C (HCV), hepatitis D (HDV), hepatitis E (HEV), and hepatitis G (HGV)!!! CONDOMS CONDOMS CONDOMS

Take care of you ((((((Huggs))))))))

abstinence abstinence abstinence. I'm sorry you put yourself in this situation. I agree, if you simply must know, then split with the cash and take the test. If you are pregnant, you have to fess up anyway. If you aren't and your parents find out, you will have the support you need to keep this from happening again. I hope you aren't, for many reasons... but I also hope that you will make an appointment for a physical with your family doctor, as the "other stuff" mentioned above doesn't go away on it's own, either. Take care of you, please. Good wishes...

Best bet is what everyone else has recommended....abstinence....until you are really ready to settle down to a real married family....it is just too complicated otherwise for you & even a child born under those circumstances.

If I were you, I would make arrangements to find out as soon as possible. You may have many issues you need to sort through & the sooner the better.

I don't understand it, but I knew I was pregnant almost immediately by how I felt....no one believed me....I couldn't be that much in tune with my body. It was 27 years ago & pregnancy tests didn't exist.....it still took the Dr's tests. When I finally went, they verified that I was correct. It was after I was married anyway, but I still had issues about having a child.

Hopefully things will turn out ok for you,
Debbie

Yes, the US has RU 486 ; it causes an abortion. There is a chance of excessive bleeding along with the cramping, which requires a regular abortion to "fix." There is also a chance of severe infection. It causes a distressing reaction as the body throws off the embryo, and surrounding tissue. There is also a chance of infertility after using this drug. It can cause an abortion up to some 47 days after impregnation. Not an "easy fix" as many think.

yes bebop the morning after pill is legal in the US, but there are problems that could arise from that. The way i see it is that weither it was the "heat of the moment" or something thought about it really should\n't have come to this. I dunno. well as others have said get the test. you will have to fess up anyways.

The RU-486 (mifepristone) pill isn't exactly the same as the 'morning after pill'. The RU-486 induces abortion & can be administered later in the pregnancy than the 'morning after' pill, which is basically really, really powerful birth control pill hormones.
