I think I need a lot of attention sometimes.

I don't have any IRL friends, but I feel like I *need* online friends. I feel like I'm going to disappear without them.

The trouble is, my borderline personality is amplified online because of this disinhibition.

I tend to hurt people.

I also keep thinking that others want me dead.

I want more friends.

Green,

I am sure you realize that friends develop over time & with common interests. Friends have to be willing to GIVE & not just take (attention). No one wants you dead if we aren't allowed to even get to know you.

Building your self esteem, will allow you to realize that you are not dependent on others for your own life & you will not disappear without them....you can only disappear without yourself.

Be aware of how you feel about things & realize that if you would be hurt by someone doing or saying something to you, you will probably hurt someone by doing or saying it to them....it is a matter of thinking through something before acting or speaking....sometimes truth hurts but is good to hear....kinda like medicine as a child....we were given horrible tasting stuff but without it, we would have gotten worse rather than better. Sometimes it all depends on the situation. Also some people are just plain tough & are not effected by things around them....others are very sensitive & even the littlest things will hurt them....that is when it is important to get to know those around you that you are relating to....it is really an individual thing.

Wanting more friends is good but remember it takes time to build friendships rather than just acquaintences. Most of us are here with our own set of problems, needing support....but also come here with the desire to support others here at PC with their problems.

Friendships are a very delicate thing...which require both give & take & sensitivity from both sides. We are all here to help support you with the issues you come here with & during that interchange, friendships can be developed but not forced.

I am sure you will find this group of people here at PC to be more that willing to make an effort to provide you with the support & friendship that will help you work through your borderline personality issues & any other issues that you may be dealing with. There is so much warmth, support, kindness, information, education, & experiences to draw from that I am sure you will find many friends during your time here.

Realizing that your are new here, a big welcome to you. I will try to respond to your posts & if you ever need to PM me or even discuss through email, I am here & willing to be a friend. I am also sure you will be able to find others dealing with similar issues that you are which will bring you much closer to them also.

I hope your stay here at PC will provide you with what you need, so that you will be able to grow & heal along with all of us who are struggling too.

Debbie

Hi Greenleaves

Welcome to the forum.

I agree with your comment about online friends. If we have an illness which affects our perceptions of ourselves and others, then this will come out in online relationships just the same as in 3d relationships.

IMHO this is because of our own thinking. The good news is that you can work things out easier online, just because there isn't all the body language and stuff to deal with.

At PC people are supportive and kind, and if you stick around this could be a good place for you to change some things, and build up some confidence for 3d life.

I hope so!

Cheers, M
