that this website is so slow and unresponsive late in the evening?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? You'd think it would be easier to do whatever because traffic is less!!!!! This is so damned ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How late in the evening? 7pm seems to be the peak period for internet usage where I live, so maybe that could explain things. Are other sites slow or just this one?

I agree with you Sept.....I decided to go with cable when my home phone line went out for weeks. They said cable was so much faster. I was swearing at the cable because it seemed so slow. I then realized thet is is mostly slow here, so it must be the website....not the cable.

I dont have any problems on this site but maybe it's my area. I have dsl. I do have problems with sites sometimes, but overall, this one comes up quickly. Sorry you are having problems Sept, hope it gets straightened out for you. I know it must be frustrating at best.

yes I noticed the same thing....it is so bad that I cannot even get into the chat room and when I go to post a reply it takes forever to post it....UGH maybe Doc John can shed some light on this problem...because it is frustrating..

me too It only seems to be happening when I access this website, and then happens once in awhile when I go to MSN for my hotmail. I guess those are 2 popular places, with traffic? It is frustrating, even more so, when you sit there and then the "white screen" comes up with the famous, "page not found" blah! blah!
I still am happy we went to cable, and ditched dial up.
It frees up the phone too We were too cheap to get another phone line and told people to call our cell phones if the line was tied up with the computer, so I love the cable now

Kimmy, this has been going on for MONTHS! Seems to me this happened when the site changed servers a couple times back. It doesn't make sense, though, because Wantto doesn't have that problem. !!

I know! All I can do is read! If I'm lucky a response will go through on the first try. Sometimes it takes forever, but it will post. Most of the time I have to keep trying over and over and over!!!!

I've never tried going to chat at that hour, though. Good thing, eh?

What I get is a long, long wait and then I get "Website Not Responding"! I've learned to type out my responses to posts and PMs so when it happens, I can just copy and paste and try again!!

Late evenings are the only times I have enough peace and quite so I can concentrate or my replies or what I'm trying to say to begin with! Like right now!! I've been interrupted THREE TIMES just trying to write out this one lousy paragraph!!!!! SHEEEEESH!!!!

I had decided to wait till school goes back into session before I complain... but while I'm here... I can only use IE "straight up" lol at this site any more. I had been using Firefox but I began to experience problem after problem.. so I tried my netscape (which also uses IE) but that was useless.. I could log in, but was logged out after each thing I tried (one PM) (go into one forum) etc. I'm going to delete that off my computer once I leave the net today.

It's terribley slow. here... haven't you noticed I haven't been posting or in chat like usual? Maybe it's a combination of slow internet along with changes made here? That's why I was going to wait until our schools are back in session, like I said. I'm too depressed to care much right now.

Around 3 or 3:30 am ET (Midnight - 12:30am PST), the site is going through backups and running statistics. Unfortunately, because of the size of the forums, this takes awhile and takes up a fair amount of processing power. I can push it off another hour if that helps...?

Okay, I changed the time of one of the processes, let me know if that clears things up or not. If not, there's more I can do....

Sky, not sure what the problem is there as I use Firefox almost exclusively for Web browsing. What kinds of problems do you experience with Firefox on this site? Thanks!

For instance, tonight this thread on Firefox took eighty 80 seconds to load, I came right back on with IE and it took nine 9 seconds.
