Hi,
Im suffering from something that is quite hard to explain and I am wondering if anyone could help me understand what it is. About six weeks ago I began to feel very strange, I didnt eat anything really and i only slept maybe one hour per night, I decided it must of been mild depression or something so I started exercising and trying to eat well, its gotten alot worse though. I suffer from really strange recurring thoughts, and I constantly repeat phrases/songs and strange things in my head, I feel like im living in a dream, I find it very hard to speak to people, my mind is constantly throwing up random words/phrases that dont make any sense, i still cant eat or sleep well atol, one of the strangest things about it is that everything seems so unfamiliar, even my home just seems strange, this is driving me crazy, does anyone have any answer or help Thanks Alans |

my first thought is a mania of some sort actually, that would fit with the exercising making it worse (the extra endorphins, etc can contribute at least for me) , plus the random crazy words, busy brain stuff.
Are you seeing a mental health professional already? If not I would suggest that you see *someone* even if only a family practitioner just to get seen and evaluated, then move to a mental health pro as soon as one has an appointment time available for you. (((Alans)))

to find out what this problem of yours is, you need to talk to your doctors, let them know whats going on and go through their diagnostic tests. then your doctors will tell you what this is. Again welcome to psych central ![]() |

Well, alans, this may seem unrelated, but did you, in the recent past, suffer a head injury? Concussions can produce the symptoms you describe, and with concussions, symptoms may not show up for weeks or even months after the injury. Even if you had a blow to the head but didn't think it was serious, it could have been very serious indeed. The only reason I bring this up is because of something I was just reading.

Lack of sleep can make your mind do weird things.
I agree with Phrick and amandalouise, it would be a good idea to see your physician or a mental health professional. |

I agree with the others that this could be anything and that yo shouldn't muck wround with it. You're describing something that should be checked out by an MD; please let us know how you go with it

mania with the possibility of the addition of schizoaffective symptoms.
you have to see your psychiatrist asap if it keeps up, med changes are often required. |
