Hi peeps,

I have no idea where to post this, but...
I'm doing this thing for my school-presenting the psychology club.
A group member brought up this quiz that he wants students to take as a survey; it's very psychoanalytic in nature-a projection test, really, but I have no idea who created it, if it is legitimate, what in the world, lol.
It goes like this, some of you might have even seen this everywhere on the internet:

"Imagine that you see a path. Is it straight, squiggly, ect?
You keep walking, and you see and animal, what is it?
You walk on, and you see a structure, what is it?
You go inside the structure, there is a cup on the table;
A. what is the cup made out of
B.do you drink it
C. what do you do with the cup afterwards?

you walk outside, you see a body of water, what is it?

And so on; oye; Here's what it's suppossedly suppossed to mean, lol:
And this is all paraphrased, by the way

1. path = where you see yourself going, how clear it is to you
2.animal=how big anaimal is =how big your fears are
3.structure you see is your dream/hopes or whatever
4.Cup A. How strong your friendships are (or something)
B. I donno, lol
C. How much you value friendship
5.The body of water=how strong your limbido is.

Alrighty then, anyone know what this is "officially" called, who created it,
and if it is "real" psych or psuedo psych?

Thanks,
-obj

It doesn't sound like any official projective tests I have ever heard of, more just a fun, maybe helpful "game" (like dungeons and dragons :-) to learn more about one's self. It seems closest to Rotter Incomplete Sentence Blank (or that merged with the TAT but without pictures, LOL).

Maybe Duess for adults? http://www.ep.tc/wertham/soti/blog/2...t-example.html

We used to have to do these in school, where we were told they had their rooting in Psychoanalysis but are more for fun than anything else. I can't remember who invented them though, sorry.

Wow thanks, that was eduacational. We get to show off TAT's and Rorschachs, I think sentence completion would scre people off, lol.

I do think you're right, just for fun, but really close to the Duess.

Thanks, take care,

Had to do them in school aye? Well, that does make me feel a little more
legit...I feel weird presenting that kind of thing, but I guess it will pass
as an example.

Thanks!

Hi objtrbit,

The origin of this "test" is way back before I was at school in the ice age. There was a "control" keeping watch over respirations etc while a "reader" read out the progression to the "subject" who had been placed into a light hypnotic state (about a 20 on the scale).

It was used to fathom the subjects subconscious thought patterns and their possible career path at that age (in this case 15 years of age), and how they viewed themselves and their self esteem and confidence, without their conscious mind controlling the answers.

We had a great time with this and we modified it a little to enable us to almost levitate (lift off the ground to a height of about 12 to 14 inches) with only the fingers of the control, an observer and reader holding us up.

We got caught and got into SO much trouble. Still was worth what we learned. Not saying how we modified it though. With time and age I realised how wrong we were to do that and what problems it could create being used by someone who wasn't qualified to hypnotise, especially at that age. It is akin to opening pandoras box.

Thanks for bringing some of my chilldhood back
