It's a 93 Honda Civic 2door, standard, power windows, power locks, moon roof, am/fm/cd. It's beautiful!!! I've never had a car like this, never had a/c, and most frightening, never had a clutch. I drove it quit a bit, but still have not mastered the clutch. This car is quite a switch from my 68 Chevy Impala! Any tips on clutches?

Honda clutches are easy..........especially the Accord or Civic. You'll do fine. Find a parking lot and practice there. See if there is any lot with hill or street w/o much traffic to practice hill starts.

Took us about a month of commute practice (nothing like diving into the deep end, eh?!) over a mountain range daily to learn clutch. Our other car was dying so we had to get new (to us) car quickly and ended up with standard as well. We didn't think we could learn quickly but it does become second nature very quickly.

You'll do great! and can you believe your luck with gas prices and your new efficient car??? well done!!

continued congrats on a sober life and having more patience. I got a new (to me) car!!!!

Thanks for the tips zh! I just got back from driving around an empty parking lot. Seem to have gotten fairly decent! There was a little incline so I practiced on that a bit. Getting ready now to take it to the carwash! I want that new car smell hehe. I must say, it's quite the fun little car!

Great choice in cars. I have a Honda Accord and hubby has a Honda Pilot. I guess you could say we love our "Honda's". They are great on gas and they last forever. I have no tips for you on the clutch though because I have never had a car that wasnt an automatic. I tried to learn on a clutch and I probably could drive one only to save my life. LOL. I tend to peel wheel when driving a stick.

Good luck. Its a fun car. They are awesome and remember that Honda's retain their value.

Ray, so happy for ya hun I got a new (to me) car!!!!

Hugs,

Jen

Ray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations!!!!!! Your new car sounds awesome! I'm so happy for you!!!!!!!

Just ease your foot up slowly and gently as you work the clutch. Don't do a sudden pop up or you'll stall the car. You can do it! Within just a couple days you'll be driving it like a pro!

A friend of mine let me drive her 6 cylinder standard Mustang while my car was broken down. I had to get used to it again, too. Now I'm back to my automatic and it feels weird, but I'm so thankful to have it running again!

Many hugs,

Jan
