This morning my mom and I were going to do a charity walk and she stepped out of the Trailblazer and hit her leg just right and split it open. She is on a blood thinner so it bled and bled. She didn't get to do the charity walk and ended up in the ER getting 14 stitches. I did the charity walk and came in last place. I thought it's pretty bad when a child wearing flip flops walks faster than you LOL. But at least I did it and it was for a good cause. The cause was for a local children's advocacy center. It is where children that have been abused go to see a doctor, be interviewed by the police, etc. It is all in one place so the child doesn't have to be moved around and around. I think they do therapy there also. I know they at one time had group therapy for adults that had been abused as children as I had gone there for a couple of sessions but decided it wasn't for me.

I got a great goodie bag also. Kohl's donated a bunch of prizes so that was great. I wish I would have won the watch I need a new watch LOL.

But keep my mom in your thoughts and prayers as she recovers this week. She is to stay off her leg today and take it easy this week.

Jan

That's great you did the walk and had fun. I hope your mom's leg heals fast and she's up and about soon. i know how it feels to be told to just lay there and rest, I was on bedrest for 3 months of my pregnancy. So prayers to your mom

I'm sorry your mom got hurt ((jbug))- wow 14 stitches. Good for you for doing the walk anyway and finishing...doesn't matter if you were in last place. I hope your mom legs heal well.

Will do! Though, if you do not mind, I will include you both.

Have a good one.

Thanks for asking...she went to the doctor on Friday because she thought it was infected and found out it was just inflammed. She is to stay off of it as much as possible. But getting her to do that is fun. She is very much OCD when it comes to cleaning and I don't do as much of a job as she does so I clean and she comes in right behind me and redoes it. I am trying to get her to sit down as much as possible and she sits when it starts to throb. She gets her stitches out this week and it looking forward to it. She had my home health nurse look at it and he said it looked fine but in a few days it got to looking worse so she went in and had her doctor look at it. Where she got her tetneus shot is red also but her doctor said that was to be expected.

She is doing good as long as I can get her to stay off of her feet.

Well she now has to go to the wound care center to have them to take care of the wound. The stitches didn't hold so her doctor took them out and sent her to the center. She is to take her fluid pill every day and take her antibiotic. She is also to stay off her leg as much as possible. So that will be fun getting her to sit down. She is very OCD when it comes to cleaning and she doesn't think I do it good enough. So I clean and then she comes in behind me and cleans again. So I am trying to get her to sit down.
