Hello.

I'm looking for information about clinical trials in the New York City area for drugs like gabapentine, carbamazepine or valproate.

Does anyone know of a good source?

Also, is anyone currently taking any of these medications for conditions similar to Borderline Personality Disorder? Has anyone found it effective in treating extreme anxiety/depression?

Any info. much appreciated.

Thank you.

gabapentine nearly killed me last year. .. but then, that's me. (smirk.) I tried it for pain managment, and symptoms of MS. I was on carbamazepine years ago... I think... must be a reason I'm not on it now. Haven't heard anything further, fgm... but will check around for you. TC

What are the other names for those meds? I think I've been on everything so I could have a few stories for you.

Hi there,
If you know the manufacturer's name on those meds., you can trying to go to their websites, often they will show ongoing clinical trials, and who to contact to become part of the study. That's what I have seen. If you know of a particular pdoc or research hospital/college working with a pharmaceutical company on a new med. or the disorder(s) that may help too. I wish you luck with this. Let us know what you find.

Please take care now,
DE

I almost got involved in a study program at mount sinai for bipolar/bpd, but backed out because they would need me to go off all meds and I got nervous at the time because I wasn't doing well.

Hope the info helps.
