Hello, I am new to this forum and am not sure if this right place to address my question. I am vehemently averse drug based mental health care. To this end very intrigued by both of the above figures. However, its been only recently that I have had an opportunity to explore Holotropic breath work, finding it to be profoundly inspiring.
Yet the more I read about Laing's work the more I feel his and Grof must have been similar. I don't mean their world view, I also refer to the type of techniques and methodologies. Would I be correct.? How did Laing induce altered states or the re-birthing. Was it also through breathing. |

Would that change your mind about it all? What do you do with the studies that for say, "most" short term depression, less than a year? that either psychotherapy OR drug therapy works equally as well?
Welcome to pc, btw ![]()

Virtually none of us here have formal psychology training -- try a professional forum, maybe?

Personally, I'm not into humanistic existential psychotherapy at all.
