This morning I ran across the following article in the London Telegraph. As I read it, it occurred to me that PC members must get a lot of help of the kind described in the article simply from posting and exchanging messages on PC. I suppose we could do even better if we wrote and posted immediately before one of the anxiety-provoking kinds of events described in the article, which is entitled:
"Write away your worries if you want to succeed" Here's the link: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education...o-succeed.html Take care! ![]()

I agree! That just happened to me this week actually! I had been dealing with somehting for two weeks, finally wrote/ranted about it, and it gave me the energy to take care of myself. Neat also, because we not only just write, support is available also. Kool Beanz

Yes, that works for me too. Something happens when thoughts/worries move from the brain to the piece of paper or computer.

I often feel a pang of shame when I'm posting about something painful, like I'm being a "downer". Yet, I feel compassion for others.

I find posting messages on PC helps. I keep a tablet near my bed to write in during the night, and, also, I keep pen and paper in my purse in case I am stuck waiting in traffic or something.

YES exaclty!!!! When I post something that is bothering me I feel better about the situation because I am putting it out there for all to see and somehow I feel better about it because I will get a different prespective on the situation from someone who is reading the post. And it always helps me feel better when I have posted a helpful response for someone else

hmm...the question comes to mind? If a person didn't take a moment, to "jot down" their worries. Would all the worries actually exist?

It certainly works for me. Up till early 2008 I was always primarily a passive consumer of the internet, always using it for no more than finding information. I found it hard to relate because I dont seems to do well with the neurotypical crowd. But when I found my own places to go to, it became an interactive two way experience that has very much expanded my horizons.
