I don't want to hijack Ryan's cool thread about Saturday night, so will hustle on over here.

I want to visit Edinburgh and then the Shetland Islands because my ancestors come from there, want to see if I can find some addresses, building and such might already be long gone. As for the islands, I want to see the place where an ancestor drowned, along with looking for where he and others lived.

Let's see.......I also want to visit Prague. London. All over France and Spain and then Greece. Italy. Botswana. South Africa and then Argentina. Then..........

Scotland! And Travel in General!

Ohh, cool... travel thread!!!!

Places I've been:

Souda Bay, Crete
Rhodes, Greece
Marmaris (sp?), Turkey
Baharain (sp?)
Jebal Ali, UAE

I'm totally down with you on the wanting to see Scotland thing. I'd more love to see Ireland though. Both sides of my dad's family are from Ireland. They immigrated to Americe in the mid 1800. County Claire and County Cork is where they're from. I'd love to take like a three week vacation and spend two in Ireland and one in Scotland. I'd also love to see all of Italy. I missed my chance when I was in the Navy and have wanted to go ever since our port call got cancelled.

Great thread Sarah.

ooohhhh, I love traveling.

I've never been to Scotland, but I would like to.

I lived in the UK for awhile as a kid, and I got to travel around a lot of Europe. There is still a lot for me to explore though, of course.

I am going to Jamaica for Christmas this year. I was in Mexico earlier in the year.

I love the Caribbean islands. There is so much life there. I am trying to get to every major island in the caribbean. I went to British and US virgin Islands last year and the island of Hispanolia (Dominican Republic and Haiti). I would love to visit Cuba, but I will have to wait on that one I guess.

Thanks for starting this Sarah. It helps to get my mind off the pain.

I love the Caribbean islands.

Gem!

Me too! When my husband and I used to travel, we started to do the islands alphabetically. (Been to some of them more than once)

Antigua
Aruba
Bahamas
Barbados
Bermuda
Cayman Islands
Curacao

Then we jumped ahead...

St. Croix
St. John
St. Martin
St. Thomas
Turks and Cacois

I'm missing one... Scotland! And Travel in General!

We still have quite a few left!

Oooooo I'm just radiating travel envy now at all you folks! Envy envy! Eventually I'll be able to see more of the world again.

Ireland, yes yes, I cannot forget Ireland. A great grandmother from there and she is a mystery still, I don't have much info on her yet.

All the girls lives in Scotland, see, that is so not fair! Scotland! And Travel in General!

All the girls, it's funny hearing so many people wanting to come to Scotland, right?

I'm from Scotland(Aberdeen) up in the north east. It rains all the time and it's cold :P but there is alot of beautiful stuff in Scotland.

edit; I've been to indonesia and singapore, and a few other typical holiday places, like spain and portugal, I'd like to go to cyprus again and i want to go to Hawaii, Australia, Canada, the US, but hopefully i've still got plenty time for that Scotland! And Travel in General!

good thread!

Aberdeen and Glasgow, I would definitely visit.

As for rain and cold and all, I live in rain world. I should compare sometime my town to you all, rain and temp wise, might be very alike.

The story goes, that we all have webbed feet and hands, cause of the wet.

I've been all over the US and Canada. I've also been to Russia. That was back in 1990 right after communism fell so it was really interesting. I'd love to go back some day.
