It's the antipsychotics. It may take some time for it to stop. It shouldn't last forever.

Geodon has more serious side effects and galactorrhea is one of the uncommon/unusual ones with Perphenazine so I guess he thought he'd try that first. Neither Geodon nor Effexor have that side effect. When did you make the switch/use the last Perphenazine?

Ah yes - lactation. It's one of the more annoying side effects of the A-typical antipsychotics. I'm on Risperidone, and I get it too. In theory it's rare, but according to my last pdoc, most of her female patients wound up lactating on it - and it started when I was on a really low dose. Once you stop taking the drug, it should stop.

This isn't quite what you're asking about, but you can find some good disposable breast pads from Lanisoh on the baby aisle by other breastfeeding supplies. They absorb it all so you don't leak through your shirt.

Two months! I would talk to your pdoc, ask what gives with the continuation.

I can tell you that this happened to me with risperidone.

I can also tell you that I nursed my son 3 years ago, and to this day I can still get a few drops out if I try. However you should not be leaking at this point I wouldn't think - getting milk with pressure in the form of a couple drops is one thing, and normal for some women, but for constant leakage or any type of large fluid volume I would see the doc again. It could be a simple hormone problem that stuck with the antipsychotic.Would likely be easily fixable with the right medication.

I have had this problem with some antidepressants also.Anything that mess with the hormones I guess can cause this on occasion. I am on celexa and have an occasion problem, it not to the point I need to use anything absorbent.
