My friend committed suicide a month ago, and one of the things she used to do was leave notes around our college campus that said things like "smile" on them. I wanted to sort of honor her memory by doing something similar with post-it notes during exam week. I would use the smile one that she did, and the Operation Beautiful one, where they leave notes that say things like "You're beautiful" on things like bathroom mirrors. I would like to think of other things because I want to make a lot of them to put all over campus, so I don't want them to all say the same thing. Any ideas?

((((((Catlovers)))))) I am so sorry to hear your loss, I think that is a wonderful idea to honor your friend and to help you deal with the loss too. One thing I heard at a time when I was really in a bad spot, was "it gets better" and ever since then I have found it to be a really powerful message for me, maybe that could be one of your post it notes?

-Ever single person you see right now has issues of some kind. You are not alone.
-Just say yes, and go buy that chocolate you really want right now. -Picture the next person you see in their underwear; see- you don't look so bad, do you? -Do something nice for someone else in the next 10 minutes. What goes around comes around. -Your mother was NOT always right. -It is okay to stop doing for a while. Just STOP, and see what happens. -Sit down, and take a deep breath. And then another. You will be okay. -Having a bad day? It will end.. you can count on that. -You are doing the best you can. Forgive yourself. -Forgive someone else. -Yes, life sucks sometimes. Oh well..sometimes it doesn't. -It is okay to look forward to watching stupid tv. -Go buy something you want that you normally wouldn't buy. -Tonight, spend more than $5.00 on a bottle of wine. -No one else but you notices that your pants are tight. -You WILL get wiser with age. -This too shall pass,,, ok.. i'll stop now. I know these are too big for sticky notes. |
