Ok I swear... I am sooo overwhelmed I don't know how I can keep it up! I'm in my 5th year of college and I am to graduate this May. However, I feel like I wont!!! The last 3 tests I've taken in 3 differen classes have been all below 70% and I studied for these tests! I am the president of our Geography Honor Society so I am in charge of coordinating Geography Awareness Week which is next week. I still have a ton of stuff for Geography week to do. I also am the fundrasing director of the travel and tourism club and I am trying to come up with fun ways to raise money since I decided not to do work at our hockey center. It was so much busy work and no one would help me so I just said forget it! I FINALLY was able to ask for help there but I'm still concerned about it. I also am working on making and ordering sweatshirts for the GTU club. I also, am supposed to be looking for an internship for this comming spring. I haven't sent out a single cover letter or resume, let alone update it to reflect what I have done!!! If I don't get an internship I don't graduate!!! I also, haven't started a big project for my Gerontology Class and it's due in LESS than a month (it's a service learning project so that's REALLY bad). I don't know what the heck is going on with me... but I just feel like I'm sinking and as hard as I try to catch up on one thing something else plumits. |

You have a lot going on there. Maybe drop a few things until you can cope? Like resign as fundraiser member and not making sweatshirts, etc.

well the sweatshirt design is already done and I have a quote from the place so that's finally over. I suppose I could resign as fundrasing director but it's only a few more weeks

Since there is only a few weeks left, maybe drop something that takes up more time that you can cut down on, idk, what though. or maybe change your schedule so you get up half an hour earlier or something.

College is hard, and sometimes we just get "burned out". Give yourself a big pat on the back for getting this far and figure out what you can lighten up on to give yourself some extra time or a break - basically everything Silver said. You can do this! Hay there Spazz......You call all that underachieving. In that case we all are in trouble of being underachievers. Sounds like you are expecting too much out of yourself. I must admit I am very similar....& have been in a similar place.
Everyone tells me that I expect too much out of myself when I have a hard time doing all the things I volunteer for. It took me a while to realize that my problem was that I didn't know how to say NO.....I have too many other responsibilities. The easiest way (& it is not easy) is to prioritize everything you are doing......things with lower priority & things that others can help with....it's time to cry for assistance. I also learned much in my management training is that to be a successful manager, you need to deligate the work & not do it all yourself. I know at times it seem like it is just easier to do it ourselves rather than try to explain what needs to be done....but others need to learn how to do the things too. Sometimes I felt like I needed to be needed.....but then there was more of me needed than I had to give. That does cause the "burn out" as Jan said. I would think that your main priority would be to get the internship & spend more time being able to concentrate on the up coming tests. I know when I had many things going on....I would study for my tests but my retention stunk because my mind was on everything else & I was usually exhausted....& low grades were the result. You are down to the last bit of school. Priority #1: successful graduation. You have been involved in enough things to make your resume look awsome......but remember they also look at not just what you can do but how you can get others to be involved too. Just a hint from a seasoned aerospace engineer (unit manager). I have seen what the real world looks for......good grades, involvement, organizing projects & TIME MANAGEMENT. Just a hint for your future success which you are well on the way to with all your drive. Go for it but don't kill yourself in the process.
