our government has "lifted" the environmental controls where it concerns contractors and such...in the re-building. they don't have to clean up anything they mess up.

two hits! first the hurricane and now their leaders.

OH great... WONDERFUL news, developers and contractors are notorious for creating a mess and not cleaning it up. I'm currently taking an envrionmental planning course at the moment so this is really upsetting to see.

AND...the wage requipments have been lifted so that the contractors don't even have to pay minimum. this is to "encourage" the re-building of NO......

well, we haven't seen any photo-ops lately of anyone from Washington. hope a former senator gets his mansion re-built in timely fashion. Hurricane Katrina the hoopla is over and now those people are homeless and forgotten, for the most part. Biloxi, etc. my heart breaks for them.

my daughter has a dog from NO. it has a really nice collar on. so we know it was someone's beloved pet. she put it all over the internet, but who knows if the owner even owns a computer?

hmm faye I saw something on Animal Planet that had a big temporary shelter set up. They have pictures of the animals that have been found and they post them on the wall. So if someone has lost a pet they go there to see if they can find it. I wished I could remeber the name of the group. Maybe she could send a picture to them? Since it's where all of the animals they have found have been sent and people looking for thier animal might go there.
