Hey all,
Kind of an odd situation. not one I would normally post. English finals are due Monday and I have to give out a survey for my final. Well as they say if it can go wrong it will. My tranny went out on my car last night, *unenthusiastic yippy* so I am trapped at home. But I still need to survey as many people as possible ( at least ten.) So I was wondering if I could post it for you guys to do? it's a very simple 10 question survey where you rate things 1-10. it only takes like 3 minutes. The questions are from other students finals as well so I can't let them down. If anybody chooses to do this little survey just email me your results. I will post the survey and instructions right after this. Thanks so much to any who help! ![]()

Now, I have to post these word for word as they are not my questions but other students. I will try to elaborate on what they meant since they are not here and I had some previous trouble with people being unsure of what they were asking. For your answers simply put them in an email and send them to me. I am required to get your demographics (a/s/l etc) but you do not need your name. An example of emailed answers would be:
1.) Poor 2). Elemenary 10, Jr High 3, High School 3, College 9 3.) 5 4.) 1 So on so forth… Here are the questions: 1. How would you rate the relevance of the material being taught to you or your child? (If you are a student or your child is, how well do the teachers hit the key points in the material and cover all of it.) Rate high to low, Poor meaning they barely brush the core of the material, 10 being they do excellent job of covering all the material. Poor Fair Good Excellent 2. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate a teacher’s influence on students learning in each of these grade levels? (How much does their teaching style and treatment affect the students ability to learn.) 1 being barely affects it, 10 being very influential to the students learning ability. Elementary___Jr. High___High School__College__ 3. Rate the amount/level of creativity/freedom in your last school year. (Rate the level of creativity and freedom you or your child had in school last year) 1 being no creativity or freedom allowed, 10 being lots of creativity and freedom in the classroom. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 4. Rate the level of teacher influence/bias experienced in your last school year. (Rate the amount of bias you teacher had with their subject and how much it influenced their teaching.) 1 being they kept a proper neutral open stance on the subject, 10 being their personal bias highly affected the details of what they taught on it. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 5. Teachers bullying students, do you think this takes place? Rate 1-10, 1 being never and 10 being constantly. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 6. If so, how prevalent do you feel this is? (How wide spread do you think it is?) Rate 1-10 1 being isolated rare cases, 10 being constant in all areas. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 7. Do teachers test for understanding of the materials taught or just to make it difficult? (Do they give tests to find out how well students are learning or just to make it harder for them.) Rate 1-10, 1 being only for learning purpose or 10 being purely to make it harder for students. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 8. Should teachers have easy point assignments? (Should they hand out easy extra credit to pass students who are failing and boast grades of those who are struggling.) Strongly disagree Disagree Agree Strongly Agree 9. Do you hold a graduate degree? If not what degree do you hold if any? Ie: A M.A., PhD. or A.A., B.A., or none. OR if you are a student or under 18: Do you plan on obtaining a graduate degree? If not what degree if any? Ie: A M.A., Phd. or A.A., B.A., or none 10. Why did you choose to get your graduate degree? If not why not? Ie: You have a grad degree because: Better pay, wanted to teach, better job security etc OR You don’t have one because: Spouse works, do well with the degree you have, had kids, unable to afford further school, didn’t think college was necessary etc OR if you are a student or under 18: Why did you choose to go for a graduate degree? If not why not? Ie: You want a grad degree because: Better pay, wanted to teach, better job security etc OR You don’t want one because: Spouse works, do well with the degree you have, had kids, unable to afford further school, didn’t think college was necessary etc And finally the teacher required questions: 11. Is there anything you would like to add to this survey? 12. Your age: (true age! Hehe) 13. Your location: (city and state) 14. Your sex: (female, male) 15. Your marital status: (married, divorced, single) That’s it! Each student had to get in a group of 5 and provide 2 questions that were included in their thesis for their own final essay (on you guessed it, education) and then we all had to survey at least ten people so that in the end we all gathered 50 answers for our own thesis without having to interview 50 people ourselves. I figured online would be the next best thing and here I would probably get good response as appose to some random online chat where all that would come back was “Hey baby got a pic?” *annoyed sigh* Anyways. Also. My thesis is on the fact that more students should be encouraged to pursue graduate degrees especially in fields where not many attempt to enter. Example I am a girl pursuing a PhD in Engineering, not a common thing. So my questions are 9 and 10. Anything you want to add to your email about your thoughts on if or why students should have more access and encouragement early on and in college to reach for a higher degree is welcome. Or if you had an experience or opinion about one of the other subjects like bullying add it in, we get to use quotes from the people we survey as part of our essay if they would like to give one. If you do give a quote or an experience than I would need your name in your email because we are required to make it a full legal essay including citations so I would have to put the name of the person who gave the quote so myself or whichever student the question belonged to could cite the quote properly.

I HATE hotmail... I'm forced to use it for a club that I'm president for. I'm trying to get a different email from our school but that seems to be incredibly difficult!

Yeah hotmail bites sometimes. It's all good though. Thnx all. I'm excited anyway. My professor loves my essays and wants 2 of them to be rewritten for her so she can use them as part of her material for her next classes. So I am doing good in the class.
