hi babe, i am sat at me mates house trying to fall asleep before the dragon (mates wife) gets out of bed and starts moaning again that i have been on the pc all night, what she doesnt know is her husband was up quite late hisself hehehe.....

i just finished watching doom the movie and it is crap, i have played the pc game and nearly completed it, and the film is nothing like it, it doesnt even follow the storyline of the game.

on a good note only 2 days left til the chronicles of narnia is released in this country, i only want to watch it to rip it to peices, it is one if not my most favorite childhood book i have ever read, i think they spoil good books by making them into films, you use your imagination when reading, and kids would rather see a film nowadays than actually take the time to sit down and read tis a shame. shame on you disney!!!!!!!

I'm trying to catch up on email and message boards after three days of not being online. My boyfriend took me out both Saturday and Sunday, and I was able to sleep at night both nights. Unfortunately, I slept all night into Monday morning, and into Monday afternoon, so my sleep hours are messed up again, d*** it! I'd hoped to correct them.

I hope to have time tomorrow night to put up my review of the new Showtime series, Sleeper Cell, which is excellent.

I don't mind if a book is made into a movie, but rarely is the movie as good as the book. Part of that is that the book has more freedom with time, whereas a movie has to fit into a time limit, usually about 90 minutes. Of course, some directors take liberties and screw up the whole story, which sucks! I never read the Lord of the Rings books, but I loved the movies. Still, I have no interest in reading the books--I'm just not into fantasy.

i stayed away from the lord of the rings films, not my genre, i am more into old japanesse / chinese martial arts films, and anything by jet lee, oh and comedy, i love comedies, the best couple i have seen this year are meet the fockers, for its excessive use of the word focker at any given chance, eat that censors lol, and The 40 yr old virgin, just because it was so funny.

Yeah I loved Narnia books ... I am not expecting much from the movie and apparently CS Lewis didn't want them made into a movie anyway.

LOTR I had to see of course cos they were made here. Mellors you should watch the first one to check out NZ!!!!!

narnia was filmed partly in new zealand wasnt it?,
yes cs lewis told disney when he was alive that he didnt want the book making into a film as it would lose its magical appeal to new readers, i agree with that, like i said in my other post it is the directors imagination that is used not your own, that is what is going to kill it, i bet a pound to a penny the director never read the book as a child.

Having read LOTR over and over again at least 8 - 10 times, I picked out what was left out of the movies, but still enjoyed them. I think it would have been impossible to get it all in movies, even if there had been 10 instead of 3. I normally will not watch movies made of the books I have read.

I, too. loved the Narnia books. I don't know if I will see the moveis, though.

Well, I got bored watching Christmas shows on tv so I came back to get online...so here I am. I am waiting on someone that's supposed to come to the house so I can sign some important papers. They were supposed to be here by 8:00 and it's now 9:00. I hope nothing bad happened to the guy. There's always tomorrow.
