We all need to vent at times about things that are happening in our lives outside of PC. This thread is a place to vent as long as it isn't against anyone who has a membership in PC.

I will start.

Just why do companies have to install incredibly loud and obnoxious fire alarms? And, to top it off, why add strobe lights as well? I nearly jumped out of my skin today when the alarm went off. And it took another half hour before someone shut off the strobe lights! I was ready to pull my hair out!

Without strobelights I wouldn't wake up when a fire alarm went off in my dorm.

leo i think the strobe lights are to give you light to get out in case of a fire with lots of smoke. the alarm is to startle you to action particularly if you're at yr puter playig solataire.

My two daughters had a lockdown practice at school yesterday. After the signal was given, all classroom doors were shut and locked and the kids had to get under their desks. Anyone in the hallway when the signal was given had to go into one of the bathrooms, into a stall and shut the door and crouch on the toilet. They even had a teacher who was supposed to be a "shooter" walk around and check doors, etc.

I am glad they are preparing for such a scenario, but it just makes me so sad to think our society has come to the point where such things are necessary.
