Hello, this is my first post. I have found your Blog quite by accident, someone may be able to help me with what appears to be an unusual problem.
in October. This last October I discovered that I had a sensitivity to beef and beef byproducts.
I went without eating anything for about three days. Maybe for this I wasn't feeling well. I had nothing but water. This is a short story. There's more to it. Then I had some all beef, organic grass fed hotdogs. I realize that something had happened to my perceptions, that I had slipped into my usual anxiety state. I guess that's the simple way to explain things.
Most of my life, I had been in a state of anxiety and this is the first time that I realized the change from no anxiety to anxiety, inability to concentrate and poor memory etc. and all of the consequences and there are many.
The problem is that the sensitivity was not detectable under an allergy test. And without an allergy test or some other metric a solution might be difficult, other than abstaining from beef and beef byproducts.
Now I am trying to deal with the results, consequences and learned behaviors and a lot of other stuff, to say the least.

brm, welcome! I hope you settle into the community quickly. The thing about your beef allergy is that many people have removed red meat from their diets. There are lots of other healthier forms of protein.
Thanks for this!

Hoo boy, I know about figuring out intolerances. I learned through trial, error and elimination. An intolerance to beef should be fairly easy to deal with at least.
I've figured out I have a problem with soy, carrots, lettuce, bananas and artificial sweeteners, plus I'm sure I'm allergic to figs. It takes alot of work to watch what you eat but it is very much worth it.
Thanks for this!

This doesn't sound like a food allergy. I think there might be a connection between not having eaten for three days prior to eating something (in this case, beef). By the way, eating a healthy, balanced diet at regular intervals is one way to optimize concentration, memory, and mood. If you have not seen a doctor about your anxiety, please consider doing so. A lot of your questions will be answered.
