Hey, I blush in the most inappropriate times. It mostly happens when im waiting in line for something for something, the feeling of being trapped and anticipating danger makes me feel dizzy and panicky. Even thinking about it brings it on.

It might help to remind yourself that the feeling of being trapped is not the same as being trapped; ask yourself if you are actually trapped in reality - or if you could easily exit the line and come back in a few minutes.
One part of reminding yourself is to tell yourself that 'thoughts are just thoughts' and we don't have to act on thoughts. That might help you feel calmer in the moment because I think the panic comes from the idea that we need to 'do' something when we really don't need to do anything. We are reacting to our thought, and 'thoughts are just thoughts'. |

I've always had a major problem with blushing. I came to the conclusion that I couldn't control it, so I just said - "If it happens, it happens." If your anxiety manifests itself by you blushing, well - that's better than getting ulcers or high blood pressure. If people notice and comment, then they are rude and we don't have to explain anything to anyone.

Oh god this happens to me ALL THE TIME. It is embarrassing. But it started getting really bad a few years ago when my mother pointed it out to me one day (she does have the occasional habit of pointing out my physical flaws), the day this happened we were in a store, and I said something to her. Only to turn around and realise she wasnt even there, Id been talking to myself. Now I found it really funny, and didnt actually feel embarrassed at all. But when I found her and laughed to her about what happened, she told me my face was bright red. I truly wish she had never said that. Ever since then, my face goes red all the time, I started caking on the make up to hide it (I never used to wear make up), but still people notice. It does it even when Im not even embarrassed. Ive got into the habit of covering my face when I feel it going to happen. Ive worked so hard to get my confidence back, I finally almost did and then this started. If I could make it stop it would do so much for my confidence.

Hi ~ I agree with the others that blushing CAN be a case of anxiety. I think I would talk with my medical doctor and perhaps he can refer you to a good therapist -- at any rate, your doc can help you with this.
I also feel that if I blush, so what? LOL I also blush at some of the most inopportune times -- and that embarrasses me, so I blush even MORE. LOL Some people think it's "cute" and that it's a very nice "trait" --- but I get tired of feeling all hot & uncomfortable! LOL It's just when the blushing is also accompanied by dizziness & panic that you need to do something about it. So talk to your doctor. Best of luck & God bless. Hugs, Lee ![]() |

I blush all the time, then I start to sweat from my head. I can feel like being in an oven even when temperature is cool around me. I figured I'd just have to live with it because I tried very hard to stop blushing from happening.

You might mention this to your doctor the next time you go; or make an appointment just to discuss this.
