I see some interesting topics here, but I also feel like there are a number of "us versus them" elements that really drive me nuts.

Just an observation.

Ehh, don't mind me. Perhaps I'm seeing things that aren't really there.

I'm cranky this a.m.

Hi gg,

It's a fair point.

My take on this is that personal sensitivity is the name of the game in the illnesses that we deal with here. It's a common factor over the whole spectrum IMHO.

I think that we all do a great job of communicating from the difficult positions we are in, and when we have a bit of friction here at PC, that is kind of good practice for 3d, where it can seem like permanent friction for some of us!

As always, I look on the bright side here at PC, because I value the interaction so much.

Cheers, M

I need to have about 2 mugs of coffee or more before my "morning fog or crankiness" lifts. Must everything become personal?
Having a cigarette too use to work, but I quit in July.
Plus put on the extra pounds, that's not good.
Sooooooooo, I have a long workout project being "planned", just have to plan when I'm going to do it. Must everything become personal?

Take care,
DE

if there was anything, whatsoever, personal in my thread, it is this. my heart hurts for the lonely and the forgotten. they are here. i get PMs daily from people who are hurting and have reached out. there is nothing personal directed toward any one here. i include myself in the regulars and i make it very clear in my thread. i'm guilty as sin of not seeing things clearly here at times. i have my good days and then i have some really, really bad ones. all i'm trying to do is shine some light on something that i believe we can all do better. PC is a loving and supportive community. sometimes i think we get our collective heads up our collective tree stumps.

i'm sorry that you're grumpy, g.g. i've had a headache for days and last night when i came in from a hellacious day at work, my heat was off. repairman came and discovered a leak in the gas line. shut it totally down and i have no headache this a.m..(cats have been sick also) ..though i am freezing in my flannels, hoodie and 8 pairs of socks. Must everything become personal? i have a space heater from my landlord that puts out an amazing amount of heat and i bet is burning an amazing amount of electricity. Must everything become personal? this will shock you, but an actual bigwig of the repair company is coming today from OKC to see if the line can be fixed or if the furnace needs to be replaced. i did not know that people cared that much any more.

nothing personal, gg. love you, pat

Same with me.

I was talking trends, not individuals. Perhaps you projected a bit?

And it sounds like you've got more than your share on your plate. Hope heat gets fixed soon.

That's a good point. What tends to happen here is not much different from what happens in groups IRL. I guess sometimes I just like to find a respite from that aspect of interpersonal behavior.

Congrats on quitting smoking. What a great and healthy thing to do for yourself. Hmm, I have lots of workout plans but not actions, too. Maybe we should start an accountability thread?

Take care,

Isn't that exactly what we do, though? I stay here partly to relearn social skills... because ppl are personable and personally involved. Yes, there are a few members who are still struggling with their own issues that don't allow them to see "others' as they are rather than as those members think the others "should" be? My personal take on it Must everything become personal?

In one sense, though, it isn't good to take things so personally. Try to allow some comments and posts to "roll off our backs" and realize that we might not understand what is really being said, nor why that member is saying it right then! There's a lot of denial and reaction from members, of course, too.

We all have personal opinions. The site would be flat without our personalities. IMO

Take care of you, first... try not to let other's actions affect you too deeply (and if they do, PM a mod for help!) TC Must everything become personal?

Sometimes, yes. I suppose I tend to get sensitive to it at certain times more than others. Maybe I'm more sensitive to it when I am feeling part of this community versus when I only have time to drop in from time to time?

At any rate, it IS sad when it happens.

Here's hoping the lovely petunia will have some warm and loving sunshine very soon.

Take care,

gg

GG, when I get grumpy or tired, I see things the same way as you did when you made the post. It passes. There ARE times when it gets pretty thick, too. Must everything become personal?

Take care of YOU. Must everything become personal?
