Hi everyone,
I applied to Tim Horton's last week, and today they called to schedule an interview...for tomorrow (!!!) I need advice, or tips, or anything, really. I've had only one other interview before, and obviously that didn't work out so well I don't know how to answer one question in particular - "Why should we choose you to work for us?"

I need luck.

How about..."Because I bothered to show up for this interview?"

Kidding.

Think about your personality in relation to the public and customer service and anything you've seen and liked when you've been in the place. Do you like the challenge of making a customer happy? Does it make you feel good to be part of a team? Avoid stuff like being a great leader and someday owning your own franchise...The interviewer wants to know how your particular talents and personality can help him now. Really, all he's looking for is to avoid potential problems. Keep it simple. This isn't really a hard sell.

Also ask yourself (not the interviewer ) why you would want this place to be your employer? Perspective. And don't go in feeling like this is the only offer you'll ever get. Good luck.
Thanks for this!

Some ideas:
- you are punctual
- you can SPELL punctual!
- good at math
- good at reading
- able to follow written / verbal instructions
- can use a computer and computer programs
- you're a team player
- but can work alone, without constant supervision
- good hygiene
- not afraid to wear a hairnet
- you know who Tim Horton was?!!!
Keep answers under 90 seconds, sit up straight, leaning slightly forward in your chair, don't take coffee if offered, no chewing gum! Sorry if this is overkill! Good luck!
Oh yes, and you have that great smile and personality! I should fed-ex you my "ALL THIS AND BRAINS TOO" t-shirt. Dress nicely!
Thanks for this!

Remember to smile.

If, they probably will, ask you if you have any questions - have some ready. A good one that I like is "What do you feel is required for someone to be successful in this position?" that way you get to learn more if the job would be a good fit with you, and in a perfect world you can respond with "oh that's great because I'm very.... (one of the things they've said)

Good luck really hope you get it, since Tim Horton's gives benefits to all their employees after 3 months.

And Tim's has the best coffee hands down.

Thank you everyone...I'm a bit concerned because, assuming I do get hired, I need a work permit and the school isn't open to sign it Dam school..

Yeah but the school board or district or something should be open. They start preparing to hire substitute teachers pretty early, I think. They have to check police records etc. takes time.
