I was at a meditation class that my friend is teaching when it occurred to me, for the first time in my life, when I say this person is my friend, I really truly mean friend. Not just the normal acquaintance type of friend, but a real, true, will always be there for me friend. This makes me so happy, I want to cry happy tears!

I know EXACTLY what you are feeling right now, I was actuat going to make a similar thread myself! I have over the last year found some friends who are true, genuine, friends. And its actually a little scary for me to comprehend. Ive never truly known this genuine friendship, and with my trust issues it took me a long time to get out of thinking theres some catch. Surely someone doesnt like ME. Surely someone doesnt consider going out of their way for ME. A few months ago I had a tree stump that had been sitting in my yard since Id moved in 5 years earlier that I wanted to get rid of. My friends said they had some tools, so they showed up, started removing the tree stump as soon as they got out of the car, then used a leaf blower to tidy up my entire yard (I have a bit of a back problem so its difficult to do things like sweep and vacuum), then they removed cobwebs and swept. And for what? Nothing. They just did it because they were my friends. Its strange to experience...
