I have been working every day at my part-time job this week. It's a retail job so I am on my feet and on the go all the time. I can't believe that after 6 hours, I am whupped. I know my meds make me tired, and I'm not a spring chicken anymore, but I feel like I am exhausted after constant stimulation for 7 days straight of work. Usually I work every other day. Now, I'm not complaining, really, I can use the extra money, but when I get home I am bone tired. And I have a six-year-old with boundless energy to care for. I share her with her Dad...(a big, long horror story), so I usually have her every other day, but I feel like I can't take care of her properly, I'm so tired. I wonder, is it the physical tiredness I feel, or the constant bombardment of mental stimuli? I seem to process things a bit slower on my meds. But I still get my work done. When I first started my job, I was nearly hysterical with the constant bombardment of stimuli. It's better now, but I wonder if that is what is making me tired.

Charlotte, 7 days a week does not sound like part-time to me and come home to a 6 year old. You have every right to be tired. Sounds like it could be a little of both...mental and physical. You can't do it all and be Super Mom too! Rest when you can and try and eat right may help.

If you can possibly leave work AT WORK, and not bring the stress home with you, it would be great! It's a neat trick if you can manage it. I used to work in a very fast-paced doctors office, and there were constant problems -- it was mentally very tiring.

I finally decided that I wasn't going to worry about work stuff after I left work. Fretting about it doesn't get you anywhere, and it just exhausts you! so I quit thinking about work when I got out, and kept my mind on something else! After awhile it became habit -- I didn't think about work anymore at home.

Hope you can get some QUALITY rest! God bless. Hugs, Lee

I am so sorry you are feeling so down.

Being on feet has to be rough and then all the way up.

I hope your save some "ME" time, like go reward yourself.

I'm so sorry though, Crew

maybe ask your doc if your meds can be taken at night, i did and it works for me, but ask first. some meds must be taken at daytime.

I have experienced the same thing, and I think you describe it well. Maybe a nice quiet story time would be pleasant on the evenings you come home to your daughter.

I am exhausted all of the time too and I finally realized, I was taking care of everything and everybody else, but I wasn't taking care of myself -- when that happens, everything suffers. It takes a lot of strength and effort to seriously evaluate your current situation and see what changes can be made to make you happier. Life is too short; good luck!!!
