I came to realize this weekend while I was babysitting my 4 and half month old neice, that I've forgotten how to play =( I've always, before, been able to play with the children in my life, especially the babies. I used to have no trouble, but I don't know how anymore and it bothers me =( Anyone have any ideas on how I can relearn or reawaken that part of me?

BP,
Go to Google and type in whatever year you were say maybe eight or nine, then type toys or dolls. When it comes up it's like a trip down memory lane and might awaken that "little kid." Ebay is good for this too. ![]() |

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{BP}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} You haven't "forgotten" how to play... It's your "Inner Child" that has receaded to the background. Yes, you need to awakend her, reclaim her. Anything creative that you can do will help... even watching cartoons, but I mean the OLD cartoons like Tom and Jerry, (hehe no pun intended) the Road Runner... things that make you giggle.
When you're babysitting, try as much as you can, to see through the child's eyes... the wonder that nature, animals, birds may cause in her. When you're in a department store, take a detour through the toy department. If anything sparks your interest, go with it. You don't need to "embarrass" yourself. Just hold the toy and let your imagination do the rest... Imagination is also a key to unlocking the place where your Inner Child is. ![]() ![]() I've been there, BP. I know how painful and difficult it can be.

I never stopped being a child so it's not hard for me to do. But I'd try to watch cartoons, go out and buy some kiddie games, stuff like that. You could also go buy crayons and coloring books and start doing that.
Everyone has some really good ideas, too.

when my son was 4-5 months old he loved playing peek a boo, Air plane laying on my feet, me on my back on the couch, bed or floor, being hed in a rocking chair him standing on my lap and my holding him at his armpits or his hand/arms and while rocking like that I made animal noises, car noises, beeping. He liked to lay on his stomach on the floor with a child safety mirror and hear tape recordings of himself babbling and laughing, He loved the tv show "rugrats" (the one with Chuckie and Tommy as the babies), a friends daughter at this age loved teletubies.
