There is a disorder called maladaptive daydreaming disorder. I know I have it because I daydream a lot.

I definitely have this...I daydream far too often, especially while listening to music. I listen to music by rocking back and forth on the couch, as I find the movement to be soothing and feel good (I've done this since I was a kid). I make up stories in my head, it occupies my time and interests me.
I am diagnosed with OCD, and I think this definitely relates to it. Oddly enough, I am the opposite of someone with AvPD (Many schizoid traits), so I'm not sure if this relates to my daydreaming at all. Either way, it's how I spend a lot of my time, especially during tough times. I had no idea there was a term for what I experienced, and that other people could relate. o.o |

Ohh. I probably have that. I avoid people. I don't have much friends because I'm a loser.

I used to do that pretty much the whole time I was in high school. I'd say it was my way of distracting myself while waiting for things to get better.
One of my favorite questions for getting through tight spots is, "How do I [or you] know that?" What I'd like you to consider, happycheeks, is: is there any way to tell whether you're a "loser" or not besides your saying so? By the way, if twenty other people happen to tell you you're a loser, that's not the same thing as "I'm a loser". That's "Twenty people just said [whatever they said]" -- no connection, unless of course you decide they're right and you'd better agree with them. ![]() |
